Friday Roll Call

Well, folks we are off to the north woods at about 8am.  The car is packed for the most part. We do not put our electronics inside until just before we leave for security reasons and they also should not be out in the cold either. We also want to get up there in daylight because today is the opening of deer season and every hunter will be on the road going hell bent for election and driving like fools. There are also a lot of amautur hunters on the road and their driving habits are worse than the seasoned hunters.  It is neat to drive through the area where my folks used to live (about 30 miles north of the Dells) and see all the deers hanging from the trees being dressed after the kill. Good eating!! What does everyone have planned for today or for the weekend  I am just about ready to start my day and then make my breakfast so I have an nice full tummy for the ride. Just a couple of last minute things to attend to before we roll down the road. I will check back in later this afternoon when I have internet access at the hotel and see how it is going with you all. Hi Chris and IL, Have a great trip up north.  Wisconsin during deer hunting is something to be seen at least once in your life.  My best friend used to live in a small town near Madison and a state park.  She used to walk the dogs for hours in the state park but hung close to home during deer season.  From her screened in poch, you could hear the gunshots.  For a city girl not used to those sounds it was scary at first,lol I did visit the Dells last month and stayed at Christmas Village or Mountain.  It was nice and I got to see some of the colors.  I also went to the outlet mall and got a few things.   I am going to try and get a jump start on shopping for Christmas as well as get some major cleaning done.  I seem to be fighting the "cold" that has been traveling thru work. I hope all of our recent losers are doing well and getting liquids and rest and walking. Have a great weekend everyone. Mary

Christmas Mountain is the name of the condo/resort area you stayed at. Ski area and a time share.  It is a little too far remote for us. We like to walk to our attractions and food. Like in the next couple of days we will go to a concert to see the Oak Ridge Boys at a small local theater that is about 3/4 of a mile walking distance and all of our food is with in walking distance for us also. The Tanger Mall is a nice little place with some classy stores with nice stock. We of course got here safe and sound. The traffic around Elgin was busy and then really thick around Madison.  Chris

I've been pretty much mia all week.  Corporate leaves today then I can get some work done.  What a crazy, busy, stressful week.  I'll be working all weekend so not much else to report. Good Morning Chris, Dave and the rest of Illinois! I hope you traveled safely and drove carefully.  Enjoy your vacation.  We ALL need a REAL vacation way more often than we get them.  I am still pretty relaxed and refreshed from ours.  Don't do ANYTHING that you don't want to do! After work today, I am going to pick up something for dinner for the kids and I, then we will probably watch a movie (David just got Transformers from his uncle).  Todd has other things to do for the evening. Tomorrow is the big Semi-Final playoff game----Dakota at Orion.  David will be traveling to Orion with the team for the game.  It is the only game of the playoff season that has not been at home, I hope they do well.  If they win, the State Championship will be next Friay in Champaign. Olivia has a birthday party to attend tomorrow and Todd will be picking up the Boy Scout's wreaths from their fundraiser.  I will be left to my own devices for most of the day.   I have a friend who needs some moral support, so I may take her to dinner tommorow evening. Sunday is my birthday and we are going over to Amber's to help her install a fence post.  Well, actually, Todd will be doing the installing, I will play with Miss Rielly.  What more could I want? If any of the newbies need more recipes, PM me and I can shoot you some.  I collected a TON of stuff.  I just LOVE recipes! I hope Monica is feeling better!!!! Good Morning.  I actually feel human again today, for the most part.  I still have a nagging headache that's not horrible, but it's there.  I am going back to work today..oh joy!  NOT Yesterday I could not access OH at all.  It was driving me nuts.  This afternoon I will be taking Tyler to the Army place to inquire about an ROTC program, then I am stopping at a new vet office by us to fill out an application.   Tomorrow my sister, brother in law and their new puppy are coming over for an obedience lesson and to hang out.   Sunday no plans as of yet. I hope all is well and that everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Hello Everyone,  This weekend is kinda of a slow weekend, I am going to try and take my kids to get winter coats today as it is getting cold.... My sister in law is coming tomorrow to help my hunny do some work around the house.I was in the hospital yesterday I was dyhydrated UGH.... They gave me some IV and I felt better. I need to find a way to get in more fluids...And food..... Well I sure hope everyone has a great weekend..ENJOY..... Martha

  Good Morning Illinois.  I have already done the friday things, going to the store, cleaners and other stops. I was suppose to see Dr. Guske today, but he cancelled all appointments today. New appointment is Monday. and I go see Dr. Hart then too.  It made it better, since I only have to drive in once instead of twice. Other then that, nothing  is going on this weekend.  I will be staying home. DH has to work this evening until midnight, then drive home from Kankakee.Thank goodness that this is the last time for him to be over there, now its back to his own fuel center.  I am starting to do the Holiday cleaning today. I may even make some sugar free choc chip cookies to take to my daughters for Thanksgiving. That is the only cookie that I will bake this year, of course, since they have come out with all the new  chips, I can go wild with them.      Lisa

Well, we got here safe and sound. There was a lot of traffic around Elgin and then again at Madison up to Portage. There are a lot of "hunter bee" guys on the road. You can see the orange clothing in all of the trucks. Got into the Dells area and went to a restaurant on Lake Delton and shared a cup of soup and a cup of chili. It was wonderful. We are sitting here in the room with our respective lap tops either surfing (me) and Dave is maken' bacson (working). We are having a little bit of cheese and just chilling for a while then we will go out and walk for a while. Chris
