Good Morning Illinois!!!! I survived yesterday with my "out-laws" and did not overeat because the food was not that good (as usual).  Everyone did seem to be on their best behavior though, so no big fights and slights.....that was a good thing.  Now, only one more holiday to get through. Today, I am here at work, but we have only had one business related call.  We have a full kitchen here and I am making chili  and caramel brownies for my FIL's card party that he is having later.  (I work for my FIL.)  I slipped away from the cooking for a few minutes to check in with you all. Dakota's game is at 1:00 pm today.  It WILL be televised on channel 50 WPWR in Chicago-land.  David went down with the team yesterday and I kind of missed him.  My husband and a couple of friends left at 8:30 this morning.   Everyone is VERY Excited!  The welcome home assembly is at 8:30 tonight at the high school. So.......NO shopping for me today, unless I do a bit online.  I am NOT a crowd-loving person anyway, so it really does not bother me. It sounds like everyone had a pretty good Thanksgiving.......now, onto the main event!

Tell someone that you love them!

In Laws - I do miss Dave's dad. He was a sweet, tho demanding man. Above all that he was a great man of God and has been missed by all. He was great for coming into our house and going right to work helping Dave with chores around the house, but he had to have his meals at 8, noon and 4pm daily! There was no getting around that and very unbending when it came to that - oh well he came from farm stock so it was ingrained.

How exciting about the game being on WPWR. Oh, if we were home we would have watched it because our cable carries that station. Hope the kids do great.

I am with you about the crowds and shopping. I know for me it is my age. I have done the big day after Thanksgiv\ing in the past and it was a lot of fun. But the malls and stores have changed it is a frenzy more so now than in the late 70's. Not something that I want to do anymore. We did go to the outlet mall here last year and it really was not that busy. We drove by it twice today and it was busy but not as bad as it could be. Chris

Hi everyone! Hope Thanksgiving was successful and fun for everyone. I was able to eat more than I wanted to, so my first fill didn't really take effect :( I had horrible pain the entire night though, I have been having a hard time with gas build up. I need to call the Kane Center and see what I can do about it because I do not want another night like last night. I went shopping today and bought myself an elliptical at 50% off :) Time to get my exercise on!! Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Kristen. I, too ate a bit too much. I remember when I bought my elliptical. I loved it! I hope that you will be able to come to the party on December 1st. It's only a week away. See my separate post. Tomorrow is my plastic surgery with Dr. Madry. I'm just about done. I got a load of clothes in the dryer and one in the washer and the dishwasher is going on too. I'm tired of all the cleaning and preparations for my surgery. I am ready for sleep!!! Tomorrow at this time, I will be home. YAY!!! I got my post-op prescriptions at home already so I'm ready. I also picked up a reusable cold pack to put on my face after I get home. Lucy

Yesterday was rooooough.  Eight hours of gluttony and all I had was 8 ounces of protein powder boosted Carnation Breakfast and 4 ounces of (yummy) pumpkin fluff. Good news though is that this morning I had my 1st post op appointment with Dr. Kane's office.  I have been approved to go to phase 3 - pureed food!  I immediately wenthome and made myself some scrambled egg beaters.  Chewing was never so much fun!  ;) On the wight news, fully clothed they weighed me in at 271.5 at the office.  :)

Congratulations George on advancing to pureed food. I remember my first meal, malt o meal with an egg. It was so yummy but I had too much and felt so full! Sounds like you're doing great! Congratulations on your weight loss too! Lucy

I seen some LED lights at SAms today I believe they were 17 or 18 dollars a string. Not sure  how many were on a string. They are real bright and vivid. I thought abot getting some for my tree.
