when i got to the hospital monday morning i was informed that my surgery was cancelled. very nice of them to let me know after i drove 250 miles to get there. the anetheiseoligist would not let me have the surgery until i have a stress test, had one 10 months ago when i started this whole process but he wants a newer one. just one more roadblock thrown up in a year long fight to get this surgery done. starting to wonder if its worth all this b.s.

Sorry to hear about that. It is hard not to get discouraged but keep it up because it is worth it in the end.

Hey Vick.. I'm sorry for the set back but just remember... everything happens for a reason.  Stick it out, do what they tell you.  Trust me, it's all worth it. Hang in there. Christina

Hi Vick. I'm sorry that this happened to you. I can tell you that it is definitely worth it. I was scheduled to have my stress test done and then they couldn't do it because my blood pressure was too high. I had to be off my blood pressure medication for the test. So I had to get a new prescription for blood pressure medication from my doctor and reschedule the stress test. what happened too was that my primary doc got the flu and was out for sometime. So I was further delayed. It worked out in the end. Hang in there. You are so close! It is better to be sure than to run into problems during the surgery or post-op. Hugs, Lucy

Hi Vicki, I am sorry your surgery was delayed.  Yes, it may seem like b.s., but I would be grateful to have a doctor who does not want to take any risk with your health.  Yes, it is not pleasant, but have the stress test and then you can go forward cleared for surgery. Good Luck! Mary

Hey Vick That really sucks.......and I would be fuming!   But I also agree with the others!   You were cancelled for a reason you can't see!   maybe never will. Timing is everything!   Got to trust in those prayers!    What Mary said is really good.....a doctor that is concerned for your health!  Hugs Pam

Is there possibly a reason why he wanted a more recent stress test done on you?

not the doctor that wanted the stress test, it was the hospital. dr. joyce was fit to be tied that they waited until i got to the hospital to cancel the surgery because i drove 500 miles round trip. i had a stress test back in feb and everything was ok, but hospital wanted a more recent one
