Party Update, Weather and Illness

Good morning everyone! I've been getting messages about the weather and unfortunate illnesses. I am sorry that Mother Nature has picked our weekend to be nasty. I am going to leave it up to you whether or not you feel comfortable and/or safe to come to the party. We have a few friends who are not feeling well either. Please don't feel that you have to come if you are ill. I am asking that if you have symptoms of a cold or flu, please stay home. It is not good for you or me to have you at the party feeling poor and exposing others to your virus. No matter how much you wash your hands or stay away from people (that negates the reason for getting together), it is so easy to transmit your virus to others, including me. I am a recent post-op and very vunerable to catching a cold or flu. Getting one ordinarily is bad enough, but because of my facelift, it would be harsh to cough or sneeze a lot because it pulls on my suture lines. Please take that in mind when making your decision whether to come or not. I care and love you all and remember that I wanted to have the party even though I am going to be 1 week post-op. I feel that I must be frank here. I do want to have you there and it will be a loss for the rest of our friends. I feel as your friend, I can express my feelings. I'm sure you would appreciate the same in return. I wouldn't want to be the one who gave you a cold or flu. I am sorry if I offended anyone. That is not my intent. Oh Miss Lucy.......I don't blame you for being a bit worried about this subject! I caught a terrible cold right after wls! Coughing all night with staples......ouch! I know that people will be careful to you right now being newly post-op! But I'm glad you were able to address it! Now......do you feel better? Sweet dreams Pam

Good morning Miss Pam. I just brought it up for two reasons, my friends who are ill (don't want them to feel bad because they can't come) and for me and others (not wanting to get sick). That's all it is. I am feeling fine this morning and was feeling fine when I wrote this message. I was up watching TV and decided to check in OH. Lucy

Good morning Lisa. We are all friends and should be able to say what needs to be said. I'm trying to stay positive about the party. Heck, I'd move it up a few hours for people. We could start it at 2. My friend Miss Pam didn't get my message right. I am fine and feel fine. That was not an issue when I wrote this message. I am concerned about my friends as well as myself. Morning Lucy,

I'll be there. I'm not sick and I'm also not one to let a little "weather" get in my way of a party. 2:00 won't work for me, but I'll do what I can to get there after my agility trial. I'm picking up Marilyn (unless she's one of the ill people) so we'll be there.

Do you ever sleep?

Hi Jeanette. Yikes, when I saw that I had a message from you I was getting ready for a "I'm not coming message." 4 is ok with me. Take care of your puppies!! If you have a pic of your new one, please bring it along. Val is supposed to be coming to the party too. I have room for 3 people to spend the night if needed. Just a thought. I have a hard time sleeping in the recliner now. I want my bed... not until Sunday though. Take care, Lucy

I agree Lucy, which is why Mike and I won't be there. I have a bad cold and I am not going to give it to anyone, seems I have already shared it with my son, Tyler though. He woke up not feeling well today too. We have the funeral to go to today which is outside and it's cold and windy. I am going to stay home and not do too much this weekend.

Thank you Monica. The only thing good is that kids are so resilent and get over colds so much quicker than adults. I had one two weeks before my surgery. I would have loved to have you over. I hope you know that. Take care and we'll let you know how it went! Lucy
