Max Hammer patients/Quincy WLS patients

Hello - I am looking for any information that I can get about Dr. Max Hammer and his program in Springfield at Memorial Hospital.  I am hoping to be approved by BC/BS of IL for the Lap Band Procedure. I am also interested in talking with anyone from Quincy who has had the Lap Band Procedure or other forms of WLS and I am wondering if there is any type of support group that meets in Quincy. I used Dr. Hammer for RNY.  When I went through the program they were not doing the lap band, but that is OK! He and his staff were WONDERFUL!  Thier follow up care is great and they all are so caring and compasionate.  I also have BCBS of IL and can give you some horror stories on that if you want. I had my surgery August 1, 2006 and have lost 147 pounds since then. It has been an emotional rollarcoaster ride, but I would do it again in a heartbeat! Good luck at the seminar - feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks Patty
