Morning everyone.  Wow what a storm last night.  I am glad to hear thus far everyone is ok.  I am tired because I haven't been sleeping.  I got an hour and a half last night.  Life just doesn't like me much anymore.  I get something good going and something else crashes.  I should be used to it, but I get hit all the time lately.  Yin and Yang are not my friends :) On a positive note, I made it home yesterday with out my undies falling down (thank god for safety pins).

Good Morning Pam and the rest of Illinois! Calvin should be done by now and at least in recovery.  He is in excellent hands. I do hope Kim and her family are OK.  That was the strangest storm yesterday.  My husband works very close (on the other side of the river) from where the tornado is said to have touched down in north Rockford/Machesney Park.  He said that it was very dark, poured rain and was very windy with hail.  I work on the south side of the city and it got dark here, but hardly any rain and a bit of wind.  Out by where we live, the weather was gloomy, but fine (from what the kids said.....)  I even forgot to watch the news last night to see what had happened.  I did see the pictures of Edward's and the owner's home this morning and it is terrible! I am leaving work early today to take David to a doctor's appointment in Monroe.  That will be good as customers are starting to drive me crazy.  I'd say I need a break, but I just had one (or two.....).  I guess I just need an attitude adjustment. Monica, I have everything crossed for you, hoping for a positive result the first time out.  You DO have BCBS and they are infamous for trying to discourage.  If you get an initial denial, we will just find what they want and givie it to them!!!!! I hope all of the MIA's come out soon and let us know how they are...... Gotta get back to work now...... Everyone have a lovely day!

Tell someone that you love them!

Wow..........I shed a few tears this morning because the apple orchard is gone!!!  The trees are fine, but the barn and other buildings are not!  Oh- the memories!!!  I have pictures of Maddie every year sitting a tree and sitting on the bench that says " EDWARDS APPLE ORCHARD 2007".  They change the year every year, so you can take pictures!  That's the place I wanted to go w/ everyone this past fall, but we all got busy ect.......The tornando hit about 2 miles from our house.  January???Who would that thunk it?????   I hope everyone has a good day and I'm thinking of those who have had or are having surgery!!!!

Good morning all! Glad to hear everyone has survived the storms yeaterday. It was nasty!  Calvin should be in recovery by know! Hope everything went smooth!  Lisa congrads on the 42 yrs. I hope you have a beautiful day despite the weather!  My driveway is a mud pit. I could go mudding but I would get stuck LOL! If the rain doesn't stop I'll need a boat to pick the kids up for school instead of a bus! Well well wishes for our new losers and the upcoming one as well! Hi Everyone,      My name is Tracy and I had my WLS on May 11, 2007, roughly 8 months ago now. It was THE absolute best decision I have ever made in my life. Although my BCBS ended up paying for my entire bill, I had to wait 18 months before I finally got approved. I totally understand what some of you guys are going through. It's extremely frustrating to know how much you want the surgery, but you are basically told over and over again to just wait.       I had my surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago by Dr. James Madura. He is such a brilliant surgeon and has such compassion and kindness for his patients. He knows obesity is a disease and doesn't treat you like a lazy you know what. The surgeon that I first saw told me that if I got off of my fat a&%, that maybe I wouldn't weigh so much. I thank God every day for Dr. Madura.       I was absolutely amazed at my results. At my ten day post op appt, I had lost 25 pounds. I burst into tears when I saw that on the dr's scale. Currently, at almost 8 months post op, I sit at 142 lbs. lost, with about another 60 to go.  I enjoy reading all of your posts, I thought I would finally introduce myself. HOw do I get one of those weight loss tickers post on the bottom of my screen like all of you have?  Thanks for your help.  Tracy

Hi Tracy, glad you posted......142 pounds gone.....That's a WOW moment!  Sounds like you really liked your surgeon, and when that happens it makes wls go so much smoother. You just have to trust your surgeon!

Good Afternoon Illinois! I just got back from a day of pre-surgery tests and consults.  Endoscopy, EKG, Pulmonary Capacity, Chest X-Ray, Blood Work,.........  All came out OK.  I meet with my PCP tomorrow afternoon for final clearance and then into the OR 1 week from today.  Trying to get through the clear liquid diet for the next week. Hope everyone has a great day! Tom

Wow Tom things are moving right along......Nervous or excited yet?   You better keep us all posted!  People on this site that have gone to Dr.McClellan are really happy by their results during their hospital stay and out.

RIght now I'm nervous, excited, and scared.  I keep having the second thoughts but I know I need this to get healthy.  Dr. McClennen really made me feel more comfortable today and eased some of the fears that were comming around. Thanks for the support and kid words! Tom
