I have been tryin to get my self all psyched up, but I have these stupid naggin thoughts in my head. The funny thing is they arnt the ones that you'd think... im not scared of the surgery itself, not scard of complications. I think this is because I do trust my doc. But I am worried about weird things like... recovery, mostly cause of the kids (they are 5,4,3, &2), whether or not I make the right food choices after wards. i am also pretty worried about the clear liquid diet the week before. I cant even imagine what its going to be like, but I better get ready cause its right around the corner.  I guess I didnt even ask a ?. I am just sittin here thinkin. I try not to unload EVERYTHING on my DH, so I guess I unloaded here. Sorry, I thought this was going to be short and sweet.  I hope everyone has a great day, even though it is gloomy out. Measha

Measha,      Don't worry about it.  your kids, well let your DH handle them.  Mommy isn't feeling well, but mommy loves each one of you.  As for the liquid diet, there are a lot of good broths out there.  Remember just to stay hydrated.  Drink lots and lots.  That will keep hunger pains down, and also make you use the potty a lot.  Side effects, oh well.  We all have gone through a liquid diet, and towards the end it gets old, but it isn't painful.  Just kind of boring to eat.  If you have issues (I did) when it came to the family eating in front of you and eating what you want to eat, then don't join them.  Talk to your DH first though so he doesn't think that you are being mean or spiteful.  It could be good times for him to take the kids out for a meal at their favorite places.  One meal each day at tone of the kid's favorite place with Daddy could be the start of a new tradition.

Barry, Thanks so much for the encouragement. It is so nice to get advice from others who have been through this and completely understand what I amgoing through. Thanks for the suggestions with the kids with the kids. They know that I am going to the hospital and when I come home my tummy will have bandaids and its so this summer I can chase them around the yard. I kinda left it simple. By the way GOOD JOB on yourself. You are doing great. Keep it up. Take care and thank you again. Measha

Hey, Hey Girlfriend.. You can do this!  Do it for you and then do it for your kids.  Your kids are so young and you have so many future years to enjoy w/ them riding bikes and running etc.

I personally found that after about three days on the liquids the hunger went away.  I just focused on my prize at the end of my 2week liquids... surgery.

I had open gastric bypass and was back to work in 1 1/2 weeks.  Not everyone bounces back as quickly but I know you can do it if you just take it one day at a time.  Your kids are old enough to understand that mommy has an owey and can't be jumped on.  They can cuddle on the couch w/ you instead. Hang in there. Christina
