Wednesday Roll Call...
Good morning Illinois, noting to big on my plate today. i start back to school tomorow. I am actually excited about it. Just to get out of the house to be honest it helps when I m there to fill like I am that much closer to my goal of bein a nurse. This is my 2nd year in college and it seems like I will be there forever. Feb must be my month this year cause I just recieved a letter that the school will send out letters the 2nd week of feb letting everyone know if they got into the nursing program for the following year. So Ill be sitting in the hospital when that letter comes. To tell ya the truth I cant think of a better place to be, lol. So keep your fingers crossed for me.
Way to go Michelle, thats awesome that you lost 19 lbs. Good job!!
Take care everybody. I hope everyone has a geat day, despite it being 30 degess out. Measha
Good Morning Illinois!
I am at work today, which I will be staying late because last afternoon/evening was NOT a good time.........
First of all, I picked DAvid up for his Dr.'s appontment in Monroe. We got to Monroe and stopped for gas as it is $0.15 cheaper than in Illinois. We had plenty of time, so I used the restroom and he went in for a snack. When we came out, my car would not start!!!! I tried and tried, but finally thought to call the doctor and tell them what was going on. She tells me that David's appointment is this FRIDAY, not yesterday (the doctor does not even see patients on Tuesday.....), so she is sorry to hear of the car trouble and also sorry to hear that I made the trip for nothing.
SOOOOO......I finally think to ask someone for a jump and the car starts right up. I call Todd, who tells me to just take it home and he will look at it when he gets home. I drive all the way home, pull into the driveway, turn it off, then try to start it again. No luck. I leave it for Todd.
Todd comes home about an hour and a half later, and my car starts right up for him. He keeps it running, then takes David to school for a function and comes home. We decide that it must have gotten wet, maybe by all the Semi trucks that drowned me on the highway. Fine.
The neighbor that brings Olivia home comes in with her to tell me that she was misbehaving, so we have to deal with that.........
Then when David calls to say that he is ready to come home, I ask Todd to go get him, but Todd is still not feeling well, so I wind up having to do it. I go out to my car (which starts right up) and pull out of the garage. It feels "funny", so I put it in Park, get out and check the tires on the driver's side, both of which have gone flat in the last month or so.....they look fine, so I get back in the car and pull out of the driveway. I get about 50 feet and STILL think something feels "funny", so I put it in Park again, and walk all the way around the car. The front passenger side tire is now FLAT!!!!! I get the car back into the driveway, run in to tell Todd, get his keys and go get David in Todd's car that really needs to be replaced soon (only one headlight works very well and it is hard to see way out in the boonies where I live among other things........).
So......I finally get home and into bed leaving the tire for Todd to figure out. I guess my neighbor came over and fixed it some time after 10 PM. The car hesitated in starting this morning, but it DID start and I did get here and I am looking forward to a better day!
(See......this is a great place to vent!!!!! I feel SO much better!!!!)
So Lucy.........if you are lurking out there somewhere.........come on out and play with us. As you can see.......we all have rotten days! I DO hope you are OK, I am worried about you!
Glad to hear that Calvin is doing so well. He is in wonderful hands with nurse Christina and they are both such lovely poeple!
Here's to a wonderful, lovely, absolutely great day!
Sounds like you had a crazy hectic day!! I also had a tire go flat yesterday!! I came home at lunch and got out of car and it was flat. My brother comes over to put spare on and pulls out my tire which has 2 nails in it!! This is the second time that has happened. I had to buy a new tire because they couldnt repair the tire!! GOod new I got some winter cros yesterday
The sun is out if only for a few minutes and that is great! I am at work and have to teach in a few minutes.
To Kim: I am a therapist and know some good therapists in Rockford who work with kids. I only do adults.
And to Pam: this is my second trip to the Caribbean but I'm going to different islands this time. It is my 13th cruise so I know the drill, but I'm still excited. Since I'll take summer clothes I can start packing soon.

Wow I am getting in late today! Good morning Illinois. I finally got a full night's sleep last night. It felt sooooo good. Of course now I feel tired. yesterday I had energy to burn with 90 minutes of sleep, and today I had over 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep and I am kinda tired. Go figure. At least the undies stayed up today :)
I got a compliment from a coworker I haven't seen in a week (yep just a week) and she asked if I had lost weight. That always feels good, no matter if you are a guy or a lady.
At lunch today I started working on a date lunch with the wife (would that be DW?) We haven't had a date in a while, and I know we need to correct that. I miss spending time with her, but with a 3 year old, it always makes it more difficult.
Wow, only one complaint today! I must be getting better!
Hello Jennifer and IL -
Thanks again for your continued thoughts, prayers and support for both Calvin and myself.
Just a quick update.
Calvin is home and resting, sipping and walking.. you all know the drill. His liver enzymes were very high today so we will go to have blood drawn on Friday to compare and see how things look. Other then that, he is doing really good.
I went back to my foot surgeon this afternoon for a check up. He wants me to try to put my foot in a tennis shoe. I'm scared.
It's still so swollen. He tells me the swelling is from my weight!!!!!!! I guess it's a good thing I did not have the surgery back when I was 400 plus lbs! Anyway, I'm off a min of two more weeks and he will re-evaluate on the 23rd.
Hope everyone is having a great day!
Christina
