Thursday Roll Call...
Good afternoon all,
I am super lazy today. I got my daughter off on a 3 day field trip this morning and DH (I think I'll start using that term, I'm still not sure what it stands for or your other abrev. I'm gonna guess Dear Hubby) is off to Californina. I have the house to myself, so I picked up a book and started reading then took a nap. Might as well enjoy it before I have to go back to work. DH just called with orders that I am not to exert myself. I told him so far, he had no worries. Congratulations to our losers Jen and Kim. Kim, I think your attitude is great. You've received bad news and your not letting it get you down. Keep up the great work with WW. Hope your birthday is a great one Jen. For your 35th you exercised instead of cake? How memerable for you and your family. Connie it must be a great feeling to slip into that blazer this morning. Imagine your size 34 now they probably wrap 1 1/2 times around. Also, kudos to you for taking the initiative on setting up the support group. I hope you have a great turnout. Monica, I don't know if you have already completed everything or if your even interested. I have the next steps to take from the Kane group if you would like a copy. I know that I did all of my requirements for insurance, got approved and wanted to schedule my date, but first I had to complete these requirements before I could schedule anything. I just thought that if I had the requirements ahead of time, I could have been scheduling appointments. Let me know. Barry, You have been my comic relief this week. Thank you and congratulations on your wow moments from coworker and daughter. Everyone else have a splended day (whats left of it). I am thinking about moving to lose or in my case lose to move. ~Michelle
Michelle, that would be awesome if you could send me those...I know that I have a few things to do, but to have it would be great! I guess I didn't realize that it took a while for Michelle to write the letter. She started it on Tuesday, she told me....she also said that she would email me when she faxes it over....I just love her.
Don't you just loving having the house to yourself?? Tomorrow my boss gave me the day off and I think I will just do whatever comes to mind....lol I know I will be doing homewor and exercising, but other than that....who knows.
Monica,
It's in an email with an attatchment. It won't let me copy and paste. If you would like to send me your email address I can forward it to you or I can just tell you basics.
1. You have to have clearance from the pulmonologist. Dr Harts office does a lung function test and then you meet with him to go over med history, etc. He may want a sleep study and a stress test.
2. Psychological eval. This is with Dr Krane. The first part is a computer test that takes around 1 to 1 1/2 hours to complete then 45 min session with Dr Krane. You probably already did this.
3. You must have attended at least one behavorial class
4. ultra sound of abdomen. This is done in Dr Rantis office and only take around 20 minutes.
5. You will have to schedule a dietary instuction class at the hospital. They only do these like once a month. I think they want you to attend within 3 weeks before your surgery, so they might not schedule it til you have a date. This class just tells you how to eat right after surgery. Thats the majority of it. If you can get your visit with the pulmonologist out of the way it would probably help you. ~Michelle

This I knew and maybe I will go ahead and get this set up already, they gave me Dr Hart's number....

This I did and he told me I was "normal" got him fooled huh? LOL He told me that he was going to put in his report that I was an ideal candidate for this surgery.

This I knew and won't be a problem at all, his classes sound very interesting actually.

This I didn't know, why is this? for the liver size and such?

Yeah, I have to wait for a date for this, they told me about it.
Thank you so much Michelle!!! I really appreciate it!
I never really asked the reason for the ultrasound, but yes I'm assuming to see the size of everything, etc. The gentleman who did mine did say that he saw no problems, so there is probably something specific such as gallstones, gallbladder, placement, etc. they are looking for. They also recommend that you go to the Nutrition & Disease Prevention Center and enroll in Intro to Weight Management Program. I'm not sure what this is, but because you have seen a nut it will probably work. I saw the group from Bonaventure and she said that would work for me. After you have a date you will then just need your pre surgical testing. This is one morning spent at the hospital getting various tests done. It seems to go pretty fast. I just checked my past email. I heard from Michelle on 10/11 that she faxed my papers to insurance that day. She emailed me 10/18 that she recieved a call from Blue Cross saying I was approved. I didn't get a letter from Blue Cross until almost a week later. Hope that timeline helps you. Best of luck, ~Michelle
