All of my Appointments

Well as of this evening I have officially scheduled all of my appointments that I need to do before surgery.  Here's my schedule of them....

Feb 14th
9:00am Dr Hart
5:00pm Kane Center for ultrasound

Feb 16th
9:00am Dr Crane's seminar

Feb 20th
1:30pm Class with dietician

Now my question is this....will they wait until all of these are done and reported to them before they will even schedule my surgery or is it possible that they will schedule it knowing I have all the appts made....

I'm gonna be busy those days....espeically the 14th since I don't plan on coming home between Dr Hart and the Ultrasound....have to find something to do....

I didn't get my date until all my appointments were complete and I had clearance from Dr. Hart's office... You can ask them at Dr. Hart's office to fax your clearance over to Michelle, they will  =) Then you will get your BIG day!!!  I think you could know by the 22nd... I am excited for you! Jenn

Hi Monica, I tend to lurk more than I post, but I recently had RNY through the Kane Center.  I did all of my preop stuff in December. I was able to schedule my surgery once everything was completed, but before the dietician class. I was able to convince them that I needed the surgery date so that I could give my notice at work and it seemed to work. But, they said they only accommodated the request because it was December and people were trying to get their surgery dates before the end of the year.

Suggestion for the 14th -- hit Woodfield mall since it's so close!! Great space to walk and waste time!!

I had to complete all of my appointments first as well.  They were pretty strict about that, but it seemed more like it was because they were required by my insurance company to even consider covering me.  I was at CDH though, not Kane.

Yes, you have to have all of your appointments with all the specialists first, especially Dr Hart. Many people get sent for a sleep study by him. If you have sleep apnea they will order you a C-pap or bi-pap first so you have it before you go into surgery. You will have to have the machine in the hospital with you. Chris

Monica - see if you can hang around on the 16th.  My group meets at 10:45 and I think Wendi W and maybe some others will be there as well.  We can have a mini-reunion

That would be too cool.  I can arrange that!!   what kind of group are you going too?  is it in the same room?

It's the monthly Kane support group for those 3+ months post op (but newbies seem to come too :-))  It's probably in the same room but I will check and post it.  It should be on their website too under seminars/support groups. Hope to see you there!
