Just wanted to say hellooo!  I am a newbie here and have been lurking for the last few months.  I have not been approved for surgery yet, although I did receive work today that my paper work was faxed over to BCBS of IL.  I have to say that I have been a lurking for so long because of the negative stuff I hear about insurance especially BCBS.  So even though this surgery is something that took me years decide that I need to pursue, I am in denial now that is never going to happen.   So maybe by getting involved here will help me be more postive and be more ready to fight for something I feel is needed for my overall quailty of life. 

Just wanted to welcome you to the Illinois board. We are very friendly here and try to help you as much as possible. This thread runs every day, so please feel free to come in and chat with us. Hugs

Welcome to our close group of friends, to which you now belong.  As for the negativity about BCBS of IL, trust me I was so scared about having to submit to them too.  It took 2 weeks from the time paperwork was sent in, but I was approved on the first try.  No problems at all.  I am now just settling into the month before surgery stuff....by the end of March I will be a loser officially.

Good Morning!   OMG it is soooo cold.  I got home from work about 8:30 ish and walked into sick son hell!    I should have known something was up when my cell phone went off approx 16 times while I was in report.  It was Tim trying to give me the heads up that DAnny was throwing up all over the place.  So lucky me got to take care of sick people all night long and now I am home taking care of my poor sick (yet  again ) son.  My poor baby.  All I can do is give him ibuprofen and a bucket.   As I have now been up a good 36 hours straight I should be joining him is bed quite soon.   Unfortunatly I have my mom coming to spend the night tonight so I wont be getting much rest today.  I have to take her to get her hair done in Oswego........ I hope I dont drive off the road on the way there.     I have been MIA here b/c my computer decided to have a virus, and I was pretty upset about the whole NIU tragedy as NIU is  my Alma Mater.     I even had a geology class in the same hall.   The whole thing just is senseless and useless.    I swear my furnace has been running for days straight.  It is so cold in my house. Even though the  thermostadt reads 70, I know it is not 70 in here.  My nose is colder than the dogs.    I was considering a getting a fill, but my band is super tight right now.   I had 2 pb sessions in 2 days.   I now know that I will NEVER EVER eat Burger King again.... and South Beach Diet Chicken Pizza is on the list also.   That was last night at work. Talk about embarrasing????? Well a couple people who did not know about my band now have been enlightend in a very unpleasant way.  So a fill is out for now - I cannot go through another 3 months (at least) of pb'ing daily.  I dont think my family can either.  Off to load up on coffee before Mom arrives..... Good Morning IL Friends!!!! Well, it is a fine day for the heater in my car to quit working.  What sucks is that I am having to wait for my new car to arrive.  If it was not so darn cold out, I would just say the heck with it and not fix it.  But, with the weather the way it is I am not freezing my butt off just to drive to work. Hello Carol, welcome to one of the friendliest places on the web.  This an amazing group of people and the support you get is priceless.  Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, becuase I am sure someone here has been there and done that. Barry, I wish I could have stayed home today and be lazy.  But, my DH turned off the electric blanket this morning and kicked me out of bed.  It sounds like you and your daughter spend some pretty good quality time together, please enjoy it as much as possible because they soon grow up. Well, I have better get back to work.  Things just do not get done by themselves.

Eh hem, I am not a lady.  If I am, I have an issue that I need to see the doc about :) anyway, it seems that there are groups in the north and I am noticing more people in the south.  So we are good in all areas of Chicago.

I'm sorry Barry, didn't mean to give you a sex change operation.....oops, my mistake. Please forgive me. I usually stop at the Illinois board first and I guess I was hesitant to join since I did notice most people lived up north....til I saw the post for the south suburbs. I'm glad to be aboard. Hope to get to know all of you better.  

Hi Everyone - Welcome Carol & Angel..  Gald you joined in and stop that lurking!  That is an order.   I do hope you find this board helpful and we make you feel at home.  This is such a wonderful place to come and get support and give support.  It's not all about weight loss, it's also about just the day to day living.  And meeting new friends that are taking the same journey. Not much going on here in my world... Just working and then may do the treadmill at home tonight.  This weather is really giving me excuses as to why I don't want to go to the gym.  Excuses, Excuses. I just want to go home and snuggle up w/ my girls (my three labs) tonight.  Calvin is working so I have the house to myself.  As much as I love having him home, I do like my down time too.  He has been working days for about two weeks and man I need a little break.  LOL Hope everyone stays warm!
