Ok so here I am again asking for advice from the people who know best.... I am about 9 days out from surgery and week home from hospital. The physical part of the surgery is healing and I am starting to move around and get stuff done. I am for the most part not hungry UNTIL it is meal time and I see what the family is eating and then I go and puree cottage cheese. I know that these are the steps that I have to go throught o be healthy, but what I am wondering is do you ever get to eat or drink the things you loved. I am so sad thinking about everything I have given up. Now please do not think that I am ungrateful for this surgery because I am. It is just really hard. I read the meal plans that I got from the support group and it seems like Ill be eating chicken and drinking water from here on out. I guess I just reassurance that I will be normal again. Thanks you guys for all of the support you have given me. Measha

hugs to you!!  We all go through this it is like a mourning of our crutch with food. One day you will be able to eat the foods you love, but the best part it will be in small quanitys. Diets don't work this is a lifestyle that will be tweaked to work best for you. I eat what I want but I follow rules protien first then vegies if not full a little carbs, for me though carbs make me sick and bad bad gas so I try to avoid them as much as possible. my mistake was not exercising. I am doing it now but I would of been further along if I kept up with it from the get go. drink your fulids and get your protien and don't don't forget your vitamins. You can do this !!!! :)

Measha, I  know how you are feeling, I was and still am going through the same thing right now, I am eatting more now the in the begining and so will you. Yes I miss my friends Candy and ice cream but I know that it is no long a friend to me anymore,  now I do get to eat some ice cream with no sugar add and that makes me feel better, and they taste good too. You can do this just keep in mind that one day you will be able to have the food you love again just not in large amounts  We all have going through this you are not alone,

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
