Good morning Jenn and Illinois! I am SOOOO glad to hear the Serenity is home and things are looking up for you and your family. I am working today and then out to dinner with my friend tonght.  We chose Kuma's downtown, which is VERY good.  They have a lettuce wrap that is good for me.  Their food is Asian and very fresh and yummy! Liv picked up her Girl Scout Cookies last night so now we have a houseful of them.  I am glad that I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but it is still tempting to have "just one.....(or two)".  Hopefully, she will get them delivered soon.  If anyone needs any, she can still hook you up..... Not sure what else is happening this weekend.  I was hoping to do something fun with Liv tomorrow since the boys will be away, but she got ANOTHER detention and I don't know that she needs to be rewarded.   I am at a bit of a loss with her too.  She is beautiful and smart, but she has chosen to hang out with the trashiest girls, use the trashiest language, usually has a bad attitude and participates in the back-stabbing, snarky (thanks Chris) gosippy behavior of these girls.  She has always lived on "Planet Olivia", but it is getting more annoying and unacceptable as she gets older. I just don't get it.  I know that she has self-esteem issues, but I also don't know how to help her with those either.  I am always telling her how beautiful and smart she is, but she does not see it.  Kids at school call her "fat" which she really isn't.  She may be a tad overweight, but not obese, let alone MO. Oh well.....enough of my venting......but if you have suggestions, bring 'em on! Glad to see that Renee is home and recovering, and KJRush is on Tuesday.  It seems like there is another one or two.....but I can't put my finger on it right now. Keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers...... Have a lovely day everyone!

Tell someone that you love them!

Doctor (for Dave), hospital (for Jim) and then hopefully a somewhat relaxing eveing for me. I am meeting Dave at his doctor at about 1030 due to a really bad bruise on his upper thigh that he has had for close to 2 weeks after snow blowing. He is on Coumadin due to a blood clot in 2001 and we want to make sure that it is not something to worry about. I think the doctor will send him over to the hospital for a Doppler test on it to make sure it is not a clot.  As far as Jim, he had a Doppler last night due to a bruise that the family found on his leg to hopefully rule out a clot. I will not be surprised if it is one. I had one, our mother had one and her father was suseptable to clots also. So, it basically runs in my family. The rest of the family have not heard yet if it is a clot or not yet. Need to go back to work. Chris

Good Morning, Just finishing up my oatmeal and then will head out for dog and cat food.  I have to be back by noon b/c I watch my neighbors 4 month old on Fridays.    Nothing else planned except for cleaning my master bath after our plumbing nightmare this week!   The toilet overflowed all over the place and dripped into the kitchen via the ceiling.  We ended up having to rod out the stack upstairs and take the toilet off.   Seems one of the dogs threw a tennis ball down the toilet and then one of my kids flushed it!   Of course no one bothered to fess up to that info until after we had found it when we took the toilet off.  Oh well.......   Imagine standing in your kitchen, then all of a sudden it is raining on your head!   NOT a good thing.   I have to go to work tonight.   I hate fridays b/c it is my 12 hour night and they are getting longer and longer.  Jenn I am so happy you all are working it out.   I have a 19 year old stepson that has been through it all.    Barry OMG I am so happy for you.  Have a great time in Boston.  You need the change of scenery and the time away with your girl. Chris, I am praying for you and your family.   One day at a time my friend.  Remember to take time for you.   Caregiver stress is the worst. Take care everyone and have a great day, Gina

Good morning Jenn and Illinois! I'm glad to hear things are going well for soo many of you! I will keep sending happy thoughts and wishes to all of you! Today is Friday, so I hope my paperwork is on its way to the insurance company. Not much planned for today. Already cleaned the house, my son is finishing the painting of my kitchen and two of my grandchildren will be here in an hour! I still need to go to the grocery store, but it can wait til my daughter and the children leave to meet a friend of hers at the mall. They'll be back in time for dinner. My husbands cardiologist office called and he is having cardioversion done on the 14th. Hopefully this will correct his A-Fib. Well, good thoughts to all! Have a great week-end!

Good morning Illinois--at least it is morning while I begin this but it will be afternoon before I finish!

Had an "appointment" with my financial advisor over the phone this AM because I am starting to think about retirement. It's not totally realistic now, but I want to get things ready. Now that I feel better, I want to play all the time! Another not realistic thought!

Jenn, I'm so happy for the changes in your daughter!

Dawn, I remember what it's like to have a teenager! My daughter went through a goth period. Now she is working on her PhD! They do grow up, fortunately. I'm glad you liked Kuma's. I think it's great!

Barry, have a wonderful trip and I'm so glad you are getting to take your daughter!

Seems like there is a daughter theme today. I wonder how many of us have daughters? I have only one, age 35, and two sons, 39 and 31. I am entirely too young (at heart) to have children that age. We must have miscounted!

I have 2 daughters.  The oldest just turned 30 and the youngest will be 12 in May. My only son will be 15 in May. I'm not old enough for the 30 year old, but some days feel too old for the "little ones"......

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been on for a while. Getting all my pre-op stuff done. I went Tuesday for an endoscopy. Found out my Celiac Disease is worse, have Gerd, and a hernia. Fun stuff. My GI doc doesn't want me to have by-pass surgery. I spoke with a Dr. Kushner out of Northwestern who is supposed to be a specialist, and he said having the celiac disease should play no role in any decision for the surgery. The surgeon is ok with proceeding, but the GI doc is still adamit about not doing anything yet. I went for  blood work today to check all my levels( my mom just found out she has rickets and I have been having the symptoms as her), and I go Monday for a bone density scan. I am hoping my levels are gonna be high enough to throw them in the GI doc's face, but I realize he is being careful and doing his job. I am really getting frustrated. He suggested lap band, but I am really nervous about that, as a friend of mine just had it done in Dec. and is already cheating like crazy. I don't want to do that. I am getting really frustrated. Any encouraging words? Allison

We are going out to dinner with some friends and I got a new hair cut the other day and am loving it.....my oldest daughter cut it she is a hairstylist, and she does wonderful work. I am so blessed, as many of you have guessed the oldest 2 are not mine but I have raised them since they were 6 and 7, so I believe and love them like they were mine.
