Good morning!

Can't wait for support group tonight! Looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting some new people!

We went to a graduation dinner at Nunzio's last night. I was shocked at the size of the portions and even more shocked to think I used to eat that much without noticing! Of course, the people around me ate most of what was in front of them! I was probably more flabbergasted to think I used to think that that was a meal! Amazing! It made me realize what I am learning.

I have a different opinion on scales. I used to be proud of never weighing at home and the pounds just jumped on without my having to take responsibility. Now I weigh once a week at the same time and it keeps me aware and accountable. So I'd say to Paul-- it depends on how you use it!

See some of you later!

Good Morning, I'm new to this...so here goes.  I'm Paulette from Park Forest and 52.  I'm trying to figure out how to post a picture. My surgery won't be till Sep-Oct due to insurance.  Im stuck at 265 now (since march 1st ) down from 292 last summer. Having lots of appts to prepare for RYN. The dietician and endocrinologist say I'm doing everything right as far as diet. Can't exercise because my spine is unstable due to a fracture in my back .I was supposed to have a 2 level fusion in Dec but due to my wwight they canceled the surgery while I as in the OR, couldn't fit right on the table, (too many complications. maybe this isn;t the right place to put all this,) anyway some days I feel alone even though my family is very supportive.  today is a new day! Good morning Paul and Illinois! Paul, love the new avatqar pic of your family! Throw away the scale! Do not get in the trap of weighing everyday as you will lose your mind....it's never correct anyway.....weigh in only once a week if you must. I think the saying " a watched pot never boils" equates to "stepping on the scale everyday, does not move"  Dave, what wonderful news regarding the new job offer! Hope you and Christine are enjoying the Dells. Lisa, age is just a number! Your not old, your fabulous! Janet, it sounds like the dirty laundry gremlins are at it again! I too have more laundry to do. Have fun at your support group meeting. Hi Lynne, this is the right place to post. I wouldn't be in a huury to purchase a scale as they only cause headaches to the user. Why is it we become addicted to weighing ourselves?  Us southern  suburbs  will have to start having support meetings too! Hi Pam, nice to see you back! I guess you have been busy so your just lurking. Hope we see more of you soon. Hi Connie, it looks like you will be seeing some of this board later! Hope you all have a great meeting!  Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Good Morning Paul and the rest of Illinois! I am back at work today, looking forward to the meeting tonight.  I have PIE! Our weekend was good, but very busy.  David ALMOST got his driver's permit, but his bad attitude caused me to turn the car around in the parking lot of the DMV.  He will learn some day to keep his mouth shut when I ask him. I got the window boxes planted on Saturday then we had a "Birthday Fire" for David and my neighbor.  David's friends came over and they mostly stayed in the house playing "Rock Band" on the Playstation.  The adults enjoyed the fire, even though we had a bit of drizzle and wind. We had a little lunch with Amber and our Aunt yesterday then the kids had various activities to attend.  Later, I made pie (2) for the meeting tonight.  It seems that Todd's car is a minor fix as far as the overheating goes, but he needs a lot of front end work it he decides to keep this car to sell to David.  It will need a new thermostat and bleeder valve.  I think he just needs to bite the bullet and pick out a new one. Glad to see that Lucy is home and recovering.  Every day should be a bit better for her. Paul, the new picture is great!  I now weigh every day to keep myself in line, but at the beginning, I only weighed once per week.  The daily up & down was too much at first.

I'd better get back to work..........

Everyone have a nice day and try to stay warm!

Tell someone that you love them!

Good Morning IL family

It's cloudy here now and quite chilly.  I need to go the post office though so I will have to venture out, darn it! lol
I have Jacob here at home again with stomach problems. It gets so frustrating when no one can tell us what is going on.  I think I am going to have to demand that some other tests be done, like maybe a CT scan or
x-rays of his belly.

I will not be doing to much today.  I have been very busy the last 3 days and I am paying for it a little.  My stomach muscles are sore today.
I will have to do any errands or running around though tomorrow though, because once I have my breast biopsy on Wednesday morning I will not be able to do anything they said for up to 48 hours.  great...lol  just when I was able to get up and move and do things...oh well.  Just pray for negative results on Friday.  I am sure it's nothing and I am more worried about the pain from the actual test.  Doesn't sound pleasant.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful day!

Good Morning Illinois! It's a beautiful day today, too nice for me to be stuck inside my office.... but I have to pay the bills.  I have FINALLY come out of my pity party induced funk.  I'm FINALLY starting to feel human again, and somewhat like myself.  I took my kids to the zoo yesterday - did more walking than I have since surgery.  Had to rest a bit, and we did take the motor safari - which I NEVER do - but it was so good to be out and about again enjoying life instead of laid up.  My dizziness is subsiding, which is awesome.  Not really looking forward to the upcoming weekend and all the BBQ's... but I'll get over myself by then - I hope! Hope you all have a great day! Denise

Good Morning everyone!!! I have a lot to do this week in preperation for next week! I am debating calling our cleaning lady, and having her hold off a week so I can come home to a clean house! lol I had a booth in a craft fair yesterday, and now I am sick! It was SO cold out there. I came home, wrapped myself in a blanket, and had my hubby turn on the heat. I just could not get warm, and I felt terrible!! (still do....) I was really hoping to make it to the Rockford support group tonight, but it looks like I won't be able to...

Good morning Paul and everyone! I have to say that the heating pad does help a lot. I use it on and off all day. I've been taking my pain medication regularly, although had to hold off on it during the night because I needed to get a refill in the morning. I couldn't believe that Judy only wrote a script for 150 ml bottle. Usually I get a 240 ml bottle. I got it refilled this morning and hope it lasts until my appointment with Guske Thursday night.  I stopped taking my pain med at 2 am because I had to drive and get my pain med this morning. I just took a dose so hopefully I will feel better soon. Since I was out I went to Walmart and got a few things. I am on full liquids so I bought some skim milk, ff and sf puddings, a few tops, a sundress, etc... I did check out the bikini section just for fun.  I did get tired from my trip but I am resting now. I've been getting periods of nausea and then it goes away. I don't know why it's happening. I am so happy that I had the surgery. I can't wait to be on the loser's bench again. I am going to learn how to maintain this time! Last night I completed the internet course for my speeding ticket I got in April. It wasn't too bad; actually I learned a few things. It's a lot better than the 4 hour course in person. Oh well, time to rest and watch the soaps! Take care everyone. Hugs, Lucy
