I am fairly new to the site. About a month and I have posted in other forums. I just figured out how to get to this message board! I'm a little slow on the uptake!!

Anyway, I was wondering is there any gathering of fellow Illinoians? I don't mean a formal support group but maybe once every three months or so a get together in a central location (or as close as possible) for everyone to get together and meet face to face? That would be nice. Just asking. If not, would there be any interest in something like that? Maybe even once every six months?

Well thank you Lucy. I am very impressed with your weight loss...I hope I can get 120lbs off. I am out of town this weekend. A much needed adults only weekend with my husband and a few other couples. I would love to participate at the next one. That would be great fun.

HI Melissa! Welcome to the Illinois board! You will find great friends and support here. I'm sorry to hear that you can't make it this weekend (short notice....I know), but the next informal gathering will be next month on July 19th in my home town for "A Day in Rick City". It is our annual festival and many Illinois members have expressed interest in coming out. Rock City is west of Rockford, on highway 75. We are just past Lake Summerset and Davis. Rock City is the next town (but before Dakota). You would be welcome to come out that day and bring your family for the festival. We will use my house and yard as a gathering/meeting place that day. More infor to follow after Christina's party.

Melissa, we also have a casual support group in Rockford on the third Monday of each month at the College of Medicine, 1601 Parkview, 7PM. There is no actual leader. We have gone to different docs and hospitals and had different surgeries. You are certainly welcome to join us. Connie

Hi Melissa and welcome, Hey we have the same Dr. I just love her. anyway I go to the Rockford support group meeting that Connie was telling you about. I would love to meet you at the next months meeting.

      Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
