Friday Roll Call
I am planning on coming to A Day In Rock City....it's on my calandar....have no idea who would be coming with me. It's my birthday weekend too...my birthday is July 21. I want to have fun, so I will probably leave Mike home with Austyn....lol I know I'm bad
I can't wait to see you again too, the last time was in the hospital! lol
Hi Paul!
Glad to hear that you are enjoying your vacation and that you are coming out next month!
The line up at Maggie's (across the street from my house includes....."The Peddler and the Rambler", "Ron & Rosie Kittleson and Herb ______" (can't remember exactly), the "Has Beens", and a group called "Turtle Creek".
The jam session will be with the Peddler and the Rambler (Maggie Davidson and Neal Lamm) around 4 pm and the sing along is later in the day/early evening.
The downtown street dance features "Kickstand" at 6, and "Audio Daydream" after the fireworks.
I'm hoping we have enough people for a Swiss Canoe Team!
Morning, Illinois!
Oh, man! Liquid diets suck. Thank God my surgeon had me eat normally up until the day before the DS surgery. I would have gone nuts. He said that he thought liquid diets were "cruel" and that if we "could lose weight by doing that then we wouldn't need the surgery in the first place." I wish he would talk to other surgeons out there! LOL.
Take care, Lynne. You're almost there, honey.

Lynn, That's what I was thinking, he wanted to shrink your liver for the surgery. I think I had asked that question somewhere earlier in the week.
I guess it helps in the surgery quite a bit in some cases.
Yes, it is funny how all doctors are different. And probably all patients are different too, so their approach may differ from Patient "A" to Patient "B".
Stay strong!

Yeah, some docs have you do it for liver shrinkage and some do it for pre-op weight loss, to reduce belly fat for ease of cutting and healing. My doc said as long as I didn't have too much abdominal fat, then he could get in and see everything just fine, even done lap. God bless his soul. (He's also a liver transplant surgeon, so I guess he's familiar with the neighbohood!)
Don't you thiink that if docs had to do the pe-op stuff just ONCE, they'd be more sympathetic???
Take care!
