Just wanted to share some thoughts

Well frist I want to thank all my new friends here for all of your support and kind words, I love all of you. This AM I went to walmart to get me some thing new to ware on the plane,. My daughter gave me a shirt that she bought size XL that made her look fat  (she is short) and the shirt is long, anyway it fit me nice but I wanted pink caprie's to ware with it, (the shirt is all black) anyway the pants were a size 16 /18 and the fit with some room, Are they making the clothers bigger, I just can't belive that I fit into them. I love my RNY and am so very happy that I did this. My live has changed for the better , I love to shop now for new clothes,, which could be a bad thing somethimes. I can say for the first time in a very very long time I feel pretty.

Good for you Janet! Congratulations on the fun of shopping....I understand exactly what you mean.  I find it hard to believe that I can buy things "off the rack" and they fit! You ARE very pretty!  I understand that feeling too though.  It took me a long time to feel pretty, and I still don't get it when my husband refers to me as "hot". Have a great weekend in Vegas!

Oh Janet, you don't just feel pretty, you are a beautiful person inside and out!  congrats on the new sizes too, I agree with you, it's hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that I am getting into smaller sizes.  Now if I could just get my butt to shrink more I would be doing great...it just doesn't want to shrink and it's making it hard for me with clothes.

You are pretty and do not forget it.  I know what you mean about shopping. I have too many shirts, good thing is my youngest daughter can wear them too. They are a little too big but like she said shes a mom and she needs them to be a little more comfy to get around.  Have fun on your trip and who knows maybe you will find that gotta have outfit on your trip. Janet, I understand all too well what you are experiencing.  It is truly amazing what is happening, and now just remember when you go shopping you have to try on several sizes if an item as it may be too big.  You may think they are bigger, but you are smaller.   My theory, is that we are always pretty, but all the extra weight makes us look like we are standing in front of a fun house mirror that distorts the way we look. Have a fun trip.  I think that my DH and I need to go back to Vegas since that is where we were married almost 15 years ago.

Yes, the sizing has changed. What used to be an 18/20 is now more like a 14 or in cheaper clothing a 16. It is a marketing ploy by the manufacturers to get women to purchase more things because they feel so good when they put on an article of clothing in a smaller size and it fits. Think of it isn't exhilerating to put on smaller sizes? I have a pair of shorts-one of the designer brands, not Gloria but one of the other ritzy ones in an 8 and i am nowhere near an 8 I am closer to a 10, 11 or 12 depending on the maker. The 14's or 16's of today were the 18 or 20's from about 15 years ago.

This is not just rumor I have read it all over the internet and not just on OH.
