Blood Thinner Question
Thank you everyone for the reassurance that it's fairly painless. If there is one thing I think we all have learned it's we can do anything! We are all pretty strong women and men to be making these positive changes in our lives! Thank you guys!
As far as getting rid of the biohazard box- I believe if you bring it to your dr's office they will dispose of it with their waste. Otherwise, call your pharmacy and they should be able to give you instructions.
Have a great day!!
It dosn't hurt, but like you I was scared to death of it. I had to take the shots for 2 weeks after. I did find that if I went through a stretch mark I felt it a little more. I would just close my eyes count to 3 and stuck it in. My 5 yr old grandson gave me one of the shots so if he can do I figured I could. All I had was some brusing arond where the shots were at.
I studied Karate for many years, and we used to call bruises "trophies".
I had lots of trophies on my belly what with the surgery incisions and blood thinner bruises. Quite colorful I might say.
I'm a little over 2 months out now and my belly looks very good (the skin, that is) now.
Thanks for the suggestion about the needle biohazard container.
All the best!
Mary

Thanks to you all! I put a lot into perspective this weekend about my fears. My nephew, who is in 3rd grade has juvenile diabetes (the bad one, where he will be insuline dependant the rest of his life) and he used to have to give himself shots every day before he got his pump. He is the bravest little man I have ever met and if he can do that, then this is a piece of cake. It's so easy to get caught up in our fears...guess I just needed to take a step back! I was so sorry I couldn't make the party yesterday- I will definitely be at the next one. Sounds like a great time was had by all!!!
