Hi Everyone! I'll be having lap-band surgery with Dr Max Hammer at MMC in Springfield. When, I'm not sure - depends on how far out he schedules surgery. If everything goes well, hopefully it will be soon. Anyway, I'm interested in hearing from those who had surgery with him (or who are about to). Thanks! Helen

Hi Helen, I don't have your Dr, but just wanted to welcome you to the Illinois Board. This is a great group of people, we all truly care for each other. We do a daily Roll Call to keep track of how everyone is doing. Please feel free to join us and tell us more about you. 

Hi Helen - Congratulations on your upcoming surgery.. As Lisa stated, stop in to the daily roll call and tell us a little about yourself.  We are all here to support one another regardless of what type of surgery you are having or had. Christina

It is so good to see someone from central Illinois.  I was really begining to think I was the only one. :-)   I haven't had surgery yet.  I'm scheduled for my first appt. w/Dr. Hammer on the 10th.  I also hope to have the lapband.   I had to wait a year to change my insurance.  So Good Luck on your surgery I hope we both are able to get this done soon and start losing.

I'm from Central Illinois too.  I wish I was at the point you are in getting your surgery.  I'm still in the 6 months insurance waiting period. I work in Bloomington and live in Fairbury. I wish there were people from Bloomington here to talk to.
