Wednesday Roll Call
Hello everyone. Nothing going on today except laying by the pool. I had planned to do that yesterday but about a hour after I had lunch I started having horrible stomach pains. I laid in bed most of the afternoon. When the pains finally went away, I felt so wiped out I moved from the bed to the couch. I was so upset, I missed my support group meeting. I've missed the last two because out of town family was visiting and I was really looking forward to going last night. As for the stomach pains, I have no idea what caused them since I ate nothing different. Oh well, hopefully it won't happen again. Have a great day!!

Good Morning all!
I am at 12 days and counting til my surgery. Friday starts my liquid diet. Today is an echocardiogram becasue when I had my gallbladder out, I had an ekg after for some reason, and it showed a possible old infarct. Dr. Wallace wanted me to see the cardiologist so I went. He said it looked fine, probably a lead placement issue. He listened to my heart for quite awhile and he said he heard a murmur. Probably what they call a Flow Murmur. Because of my weight, my heart has to work so hard to pump as much blood as it has to and it caused a whooshing sound to be heard thru the ventricles. So he ordered an echo to double check it. He cleared me for surgery without it, bit just to be safe we are getting the test. It is non invasive and doesnt require needles or icky white chalky drinks so what the heck?
Then off to get my hair cut and colored so I dont look so bad post op. Pale and weak is bad enough! But pale, weak, and gray....Oh my! Anyway it will make me feel better and pass some time.
Tomorrow is our Pizza party last supper and visiting with my friends. I am looking forward to everyone coming over and having a good time.
I hope everyone has a good day!
Paul, I hope your stall is short lived. I know this is one of the issues I will face and hopefully be able to get advice from all of you when it happens.
Let's all try to keep cool today and enjoy the summer while it is still here!

Thank you for the words of encouragement! I feel very comfortable with Dr. Wallace. He took very good care of me when he took out my gallbladder 5 weeks ago. I am going to be at ABMC. I asked him which facility he prefers and he said the advantage of ABMC is that their 6th floor has been set up just for people who have the surgery. When I was up there after the gallbladder surgery they took awesome care of me and I was very happy with all the care I received. ( being an intensive care nurse, I can be a difficult patient! LOL!!!) I tried to make some friends of the staff while I was there, and even picked out my room! If it is available that is.......
I am excited to get this all started, but everyday I also get a little more anxious about the post op period.
I rely on this board to help me with my questions, it has been a Godsend! Thank you for all your well wishes!

Okay, young man what did I tell you about the scale when we were at Dawn's??? I am by no means an expert with the band but am a total advocate for a person seeking professional input for whatever the person is going through medically at their time and place. Yes, it is probably a good time to touch base with your doc and/or a NUT. Start now by making apts with whatever professional(s) you choose to go to. Start a food, water and exercise diary because that is going to be the major questions they are going to ask you.

Okey-dokey, here is the synopsis of my day. I played hookie from work!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, Chris needed to do that as she was stressing from many areas of her life. Can you say - too busy
Usually at this time of the summer I am overwhelmed with life and things that have come, gone and are about to happen for the remaining days of the summer.
Well, how did my day go
It was awesome. I got so much done and would not let myself feel guilty for calling in for a sick day which really was a mental health day and I deserve it.
Dave and I go to St Charles, IL for his B-day on Friday for two days of plain fun and hopefully some shopping or in the least window shopping. This is the first time ever in all our married lives that we spent both of our b-days at the same place. We always get to choose where we want to go and this year we decided that there was so much to do in St Charles/Geneva area that we will go back. Remember we could not rent bikes on my b-day because of the wind, but we are going to do it on Friday. Dave has two offers on the table for contracts - we will see as it is crunch time for negotiations on the compensation side of things. We still have several weekends left with fun filled times booked in the Dells, Renaissance Faire in WI and elsewhere plus the friends we visited in FL are staying with us the last/first weekend of Sept/Oct.
Need to go and chill for the rest of the day and plain rest because Lord knows I need it.
