Illinois Support Groups

Can anyone enlighten me on the support groups out there in Illinois.  I have one in Joliet through my Dr's Office, but have heard of some in Pontiac and Peru which are much closer to home.  Where do you go?

I am pretty far away from you so can't help you with what is close.
I attend the Rockford group and sometimes go up to my surgeon's group in Madison, WI.

Keep looking though because support is vital.

How the heck are you?  Your new avatar looks really nice.
I have never made it to the OSF group.  Is it still being held?  When we had the first Rockford group (at the College of Medicine) a couple of people from that group came, but we have not seen them since our first meeting either.

I didn't know there was a group at the College of Medicine. When does it meet? The OSF is struggling to find a leader. I haven't been there in a few months, so I'm not sure whatever happened with that.

We meet on the third Monday of every month at the U of I College of Medicine on Parkside Drive at 7:00.

Connie (Birder her on the board) works there and got us the room.  She is the unofficial head of the meetings, but she is too modest to really say that.  All are welcome, pre-op, post op, new, old and every different doctor and surgery type.  We are usually not very structured, we just talk about whatever needs to be talked about that night.

You are right, There is one in Peru and one in Pontiac, but I really don't know anything about them. You nees to get hold of St. James and Illinois Valley to find out about them.

I haven't made it to the Peru one yet but it meets the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm at IL Valley Com. Hospital.  You can look on their website for the details of the contact person and room of the meeting.  I think it is Meeting Room C. 

 I have my support group meeting in Champaign IL at carle hosipal and they are great my doctor is there so i just go to them.
