Tuesday Roll Call
Hi everyone. I must be one of the fortunate ones who get to sleep in because I am always one of the last to post! High School Bowling tryouts all week for my freshman, but the coach is pretty convinced he will be on the varsity team. Work at the office this morning, take care of mom and my neice Maya this afternoon, tryouts, then bartend tonight. I am healing well from my surgery and follow up with the doctor this Thursday.

Morning Everyone -
Happy Tuesday. Calvin is off today and probably still wrapped up in covers laying in bed while I'm working.. Oh well. He needs it.
When I get off tonight, we are going to go vote early, get that out of the way and then probably go to dinner. We have not spent much time together lately since we seem to be working different shifts.
Not much else going on. Hope everyone has a great day. Stay warm!

Good morning Nancy and the rest of Illinois!
I agree on both counts: It is WAY too cold and I am tired of politicians. I'm pretty sure my mind is made up as to the lesser of the two evils.
I saw something the other day that made sense:
"Why do we only have two candidates for president when we chose from over 50 for Miss America?"
That is meant to be funny, but it is true in a way also. Why do we have to pick from only 2? Not to mention the money spent by these candidates..........Do you know how much healthy food could be purchased for families with that money?
I am taking my aunt back to the high-rise this afternoon so that she can place her deposit on her new apartment! She has been accepted! Tomorrow she leaves for almost 3 weeks to visit with her family in New Orleans, then she will come home, pack up and we will move her on up! Very exciting!
Besides that, not much else.
Thanks Connie for the tip about the contacts. I am trying to get by with just the reading glasses, but it is very annoying. I guess it is time to admit my age. I have never worn glasses or contacts, so I will have to check into it.
Dakota has their first playoff game this Saturday!

I'm the same way. I always have had perfect eye sight. Well this year my eyes started to hurt and sometimes I wouldn't be able to focus to read something.
I went to the eye doctor and I got reading glasses. I told the doctor I work on the computer 10+ hours a day. He gave me "no-line" bifocals. So basically when I look up at the computer I'm looking through the non-prescription part and when I'm looking down to read I look through the prescription part. No one can tell that they are bifocals.
Now the bad thing is I only wear them when my eyes hurt. I just can't get used to wearing them.

Good Morning fellow Illinoisians!!!
CONGRATS CAROL!!!!!!
I too am ready for this election to be done, we didn't have much to choose from this one. Like Dawn I think I've decided on the lesser of the two evils. It's sad that alot of people feel this way this election.
I will be at the support group at Silver Cross tonight, this is my first meeting there, I was attending the Riverside meetings in Kankakee until my bariatric doctor moved and then we moved, so he wanted me to start seeing Dr. Joyce and attending his group meetings. So I'm looking forward to meeting some of my friends from OH here. The meeting tonight and afew loads of laundry are all I have in store for my day...woo hoo!!! Boy I need a job even a part time one would be nice, I'm going stir crazy. I've never had this hard of a time finding a job.
Nancy thanks for the heads up on the eye place to go. I need to go sooner than later.
Well here's hoping one and all have a GREAT day!!!!

Hi everyone!
BRRRR is right!
I voted yesterday at the township hall, it only took an hour.
The paper jammed and they had to take apart the machine to get more paper in it for me.
I was happy they loaded more paper and it worked again, and I saw my votes were there! I was thinking they were lost.
The clerk told me " ah, you are so patient because you are voting for two"
I thought "what the heck is she talking about?"
Man - I realized she thought I was pregnant! Darn I lost nearly 30 pounds and still look pregnant!!!
grrrrrrrrr
I would have told her I was just fat, but so many people were looking at us as she said that, I just shrugged and left.
This made me get on the treadmill and work real hard.
Oh well, someday...
Keep warm everyone!
Cathy
