Yes, I believe the GB situation could be having an effect on your ability to lsoe weight. Severe pain can make it difficult to lose weight. Your body is fighting the pain and might be sending you signals to eat and comfort yourself, to get the good endorphin rush going to counteract your pain.
Lots of docs, including mine, insist on removing the GB and appendix when they go in to do WLS. It is believed rapid weight loss can cause gallstones, etc. and post-WLS removal of the GB is fairly common and a big pain in the arse for the patient. There is some debate about this, actually.
I'm sure others who had the Band can give you better advice about your restriction, but my thought is that you are not getting enough restriction and may need a tighter "fill." I''m sure this should wait until you get your GB pain/surgery sorted out.
Please take care of yourself and try and focus on getting better, instead of seeing that number on the scale go down, at this point. You will be on track soon.

Type 2 diabetes and sleep apnea GONE!
I had my gall bladder removed years ago but have heard some doctors remove it during lapband surgery. Sorry you are having issues with it.
You are only two months out from surgery and will be hungry. You don't have restriction yet and it can take awhile to get it. I have now had five fills and am restricted......for now, but that can change when I start to lose more fat from around my stomach then I'll need another fill. You must be patient and you must control what you put in your mouth at this time. Some days are easier than others....don't lose sight of the big picture!
Is it possible your sugars are not stable because of the gall bladder problem? I'm assuming your not eating foods made from white flour.
Good luck....I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers....please keep us posted!
I did a Google search on the info that you provided with the lack of weight loss/band placement/gall bladder and really cannot find a connection for your gall bladder causing a lack of weight loss. IMHO your lack of weight loss if you call a 20# loss in 2 months a lack that is because you are possibly in need of a fill. You even say you do not have any restriction. My doctor calls the month after band placement the "time of frustration" before the person gets a fill.
I am going to guess that you probably would have needed your gall bladder out anyways even before you had any type of WLS despite your weight loss. I know your pain with the attacks from the gall bladder because in '91 I almost died due to a gall bladder problem and ended up in the hospital for 117 days (yes 117 days, almost 4 months) with pancreatitis due to gall bladder. You need to get into the doctor with your problem and also into the WLS doc and get a fill. Do not go on complaining about lack of weight loss but take the situation into your own hands and do something about it. You need to evaluate why you are having gall bladder pain, what you are eating that is causing it and learn from it. Stop eating the foods that cause it so you can go out and exercise.

ps - just because you can eat without restriction does not mean that you should.
