Moving to move more

Others will have to post a move to lose if that is what they want.  My moving is just for health, muscle tone and to be able to move more as well as at some point to kick in some happy juices that are produced with major exercise.

My exercise history is based in my having played at playing high school, college and semi-pro football.  After I quit playing I did things like biking fifty miles a day, swimming for hours, twelve hour days in construction followed by four hours at a gym.  ten mile runs and running sixteen flights of stairs to my dorm room.

None of that was ever for weight loss.  The only way to lose weight is to have less calories in than your body uses.  Exercise does burn calories but I have found it also makes one hungry and that normally one eats more than one exercises off.  The good part though is that it does build muscle and muscle burns more calories than fat burns.

At heavy weights or other out of shape levels though one must be very careful not to either injure themselves or deplete nutrients while burning calories.

So I am just moving to move.  Our building has seven floors.  There is an elevator lobby in the middle and three long hallways going out to stairways on each end.  Our apartment is just off of the lobby on the sixth floor.  I think that when I can walk the distance of twelve hallways without stopping I should also be able to go out on a nice day and walk to the workout center where I can rest or play and then walk back or be picked up until I am in shape to walk back. I would also like to be able to walk the five flights up at least slowly without being spent so that I could do so if the power goes out.

I started last Wednesday 12/31 by walking down one hall of my building and down a flight of stairs then back up the fifth floor hall to the elevators and downstairs to rest.  I then walked another hall to the stairs and went slowly up the stairs to two and to the elevators to get back home.

On Thursday 1/1 I repeated that.

Friday 1/2 I did not get out in the afternoon and when I got out after dinner something went pop on my left hip as I got to the door of the first stairwell.  I just returned home in pain.  There was no pain through the evening or this morning so I will try again today and hope it was just a cramp.

Satuday 1/3 four hallways, three flights down, one flight up

Sunday 1/4 plan to walk around Willow a bit and climb two flights up and two down - did it -  more than four hallways. three flights up and down

Monday 1/5 Got out of bed, typed on computer LOL more later

I have been doing some abs and some teo-boe.  It's just so fast that I have a hard time keeping up with it.  That's one of my goals that I am able to complete the whole 45 min workout by the end of next month.  Good luck w/ the halls and stairs.  I know stairs still kill me.  Be careful!
