Thursday Roll Call

Good morning Illinois!

I'm up and cannot sleep.  Sometimes I wake up and my thoughts just won't let me sleep.  Tonight is one of those nights.  It seems to be happening more since I was laid off.  I'm a bit worried about the future since I'm not getting any response for all the resumes that are being sent out.  I sure hope that the economy turns around soon.  In the last week, I've watched both the Grapes of Wrath and Bound for Glory.  Both movies are about struggles during the Great Depression.  I'm thinking that they are not the best movies to watch at this particular time!  My weight is not moving even with working out.  I don't eat very much, but with being home all day, I figure I'm probably snacking more than I do when I work.  I can't eat very much at meals, so I must be popping small handfuls of things more throughout the day.  I'm going to try and track it a little better and see if that is what is keeping the weight from coming off.  Liz and I are going away for the weekend at the end of the month.  It is her birthday and that will be her gift.  I'm hoping that will help to relax my fears a little.  School starts on Monday and hopefully that will also give me some purpose in my days.  Thanks for all the support you've been giving.

Paul

I loved "The Grapes of Wrath" it is my favorite black and white flick.

Man, job searching sucks. I hate it. You should look at driving a school bus out there.

It pays pretty well and the hours work good for going to school or being with stay at home kids.

Plus it is virtually a recession proof industry. The kids are still going to go to school.

I really don't see this economic thing turning around for another 1.5 - 2 years.

Then we have to start paying off the trillion dollar loan we are taking out to stimulate the economy.  Our taxes may go up.

I hope your getting Unemployment. (I think you can get extensions up to 2 years now)

Anyway, sorry about your situation. But we will come back.

Anyway, I am doing the same thing I always do. Work, school, work, school.

I bought a couple chocolate VD roses for some girls at my school. (VD for valentines day, not vinerial disease. I don't know if they make VD roses for that?)  You know, hookers give them out. HAPPY VD! and give you a rose. (Hey it could happen)

Anyway, they are both young, but they are also both kinda, hmmmmm..... not easy on the eyes.  So, I am going to give them some Valentines roses and get them Ruby Tuesday gift cards, since they are probably not getten taken out by anyone.

Anyway, supposed to be warm today, and warmer tomorrow.

Woo Hoo, everyone is invited to my house to roll around NEKKED in the snow tomorrow. (Its supposed to be almost 50)

Come on over. We will have fun.

Well, I gotta go,

God Bless.

Dave

Good Morning Paul and Illinois Friends

Paul, I understand your frustrations about looking for work.  I have been there and done that twice as I had 2 jobs with my position eliminated.  Each time I found something better for me, so hang in there.  I truly believe that everything happens for a purpose.  You may not be able to see that purpose right now but it will reveal itself one day.  The last time, I placed my faith in the man upstairs and enjoyed my first extended vacation in my long work career.  When I found a job, I was able to jump back in with more enthusiasm.  The break did me a world of good.

Dave, me rolling nekked in snow would not be a pretty site.  Also by the time it gets to 50 degrees, it will mostly be mud, and I am not into mud baths.  Sorry.    That is sweet of you to get the chocolate roses for the girls at school.

Once again, I hope work will be sane today.  Yesterday I was ready to pull my hair out!  Me and my coworkers were all ready to go running out the building screaming!  Customers are being idiots and you have to just sweetly smile, and talk nice and wonder how these people deal with life when they are so dumb!    At least today, I leave early and go spend some time in a pool for therapy and I hear there is a nice whirlpool that I plan to check out before I leave.  Ahhhh.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning Paul and the rest of my IL family,

Paul, I am sorry that it's been so hard, I do understand. I have been filling out apps and sending out resumes as well and nothing.  Of course you have more experience than I do, so I'm sure something will come up soon for you.
Happy Birthday to Liz, in case I forget by the end of the month!  lol

Well as for me today, I have to go to Walgreens to get Tyler's script for his Accutane filled and then stop at the grocery store.  I have resigned myself to the fact that I have to drive Mike's car when I have to go somewhere, even though I am not comfortable doing it at all.  Luckily neither store is far from home.
I was SO sick all yesterday afternoon and night.  I have no idea why or what brought it on.  All of a sudden I was having stomach issues and in the bathroom every 1/2 it seemed.  Today I don't feel "bad" per say, but my stomach is achy kinda.  I am trying to figure out what I should eat, that has protien but isn't too heavy in my stomach this morning.  I also need to make sure I drink a ton because I didn't yesterday and I know I got dehydrated some.
So, other than the stores quick today, I am doing more homework and just hanging out

I hope everyone has a wonderful, warm and safe day!

Crystal, you are in my thoughts and prayers sweetie!!  Many hugs to you!

Monica

Good Morning. Well, this is another cold morning, but warmth is on the way. You notice, I said warmth, not warm. We may be able to take off  one layer at least.

Paul, with your education and background, you will find a new career choice.

Monica, you also will be finding something. There are jobs out there. Daves idea of driving a school bus is good.

Dave, you are a sweet guy.

Nancy, enjoy your PT. BTW, I agree with you on the idiot people we deal with. Yesterday, I bet I had 5 clients that thought they knew my job better then me.

My day will consist of  house cleaning, and working on taxes. I also may go Krogering, but not sure. That is something I can do tomorrow.

I started another rug last weekend. Well, last night I tore it apart. I was just not happy with the way it looked, and this one  is a shower gift for a friends daughter. I want to get this finished, since I have found a pattern for a square knot rug that you work on a loom like the old hooked potholders we all made as children. This looks interesting, but I won't do it until the one I am working on is done.

Stay warm and safe.

Hugs,

Lisa

Good morning friends!

This economy is driving everyone nuts. I understand not sleeping well at night and not being able to turn off your head. I have experienced that at times during my life. It's exasperating!

Take care friends and try to enjoy the day. Be grateful for something today.

Good morning Paul and the rest of my IL family, Paul keep your chin up I am sure something will come your way soon and like Nancy said a much better job then before,
Yesterday the PS did take my last drain out he said that it has been in too long and has to come out, boy it sure feels much better now,
He is also ready to help me fight my INS comp on getting my arms done, I sure hope it works out for me and I can get them done soon,

Jim is having Hernia surgery today has to be at the Hospital at 2 so not any plans for me today
Hope everyone has a great day
Monica hope you feel better soon, You did not eat any think with  Peanut butter in it did you? I hope not, there are so many recalls on it now almost afraid to eat anything with it in it,
well I am out of here going to get something for breakfast,

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!

Good morning IL friends.

First, a heartfelt thanks for all your messages yesterday.

I was so tired in the evening, so I was just able to read them. The airplane was great, but at first I was so cold because of the lack of covered feet. Once I got on the plane, it was fine. I had a lot of problems with the car rental. I reserved a mid size car and they wanted to give me a compact. That would have been fine for me but not for my sister with her arthritis. I got a midsize car and then I could pull out the cigarette lighter, so that I could use my GPS navigator. So I had to go back to the rental with my luggage and wait in line again. I was in the airport for 2 hours before I got my car. Now it's fine.

We went into the pool for a while. The sun felt so good and the pool was relaxing. Later, we went out to dinner and did some grocery shopping.

Today, we will go to Trader Joes and maybe Kmart. Then pool time.

Paul, I'm so sorry that you are not having any luck in your job search. Something will come up soon!

Dave, that is so sweet of you to give chocolate roses to the girls at school.

Janet, happy to hear that the PS took out your last drain. I bet you feel so much better. That pulling and tugging on the skin really gets annoying.

Wishing everyone a nice day.

Hugs,
Lucy
