Good morning all. My tummy woke me up a short while ago. Sometimes it does that to me. I realized that I was so busy yesterday that I did not eat like I should have. When my tummy needs to be filled then there is no going back to sleep for me. I am feeding it and I will go back to sleep and sleep like a baby for a few hours.

Anything special going on in your world today? I found out that my boss is gone for two days starting today. He will be in Springfield for some type of an autism meeting. He has a girl with autism and he is active with some legislature right now.

Going to curl up in my chair for a while - I will check back later.

Morning!

All is good with me today. My college is on spring break, so I have more time for me this week. I have been needing some time off. I took a nice long walk last night. I bundled up and went out snooping in the woods by the lake down the road. I found what looked like an old junk yard. So, of course I snooped through all the junk. (Its a guy thing) I even found a big hill that I climbed up. I never could have done that 6 months ago. It felt good.

It was all muddy, so I tried to clean my shoes off in the grass on the way back home. Its about 1/4 mile to and from the lake. I got most of it off. (The carpet got the rest )

Anyway, running to work.

Everyone have a good day. Its supposed to be warm, but rainy.

Hi everybody,
Getting up for the day and ready for the gym.  Yesterday I took a day off after a PC dr. appointment.
They did blood work and I'm hoping they will bring down some of my meds.

I haven't taken a me day off for a very long time and I spent it working on a couple of quilts, I am so far behind on the baby quilts I'm making(darn girl had twins).  It was so nice to get the centers done.
I went to work because I had a conference call first thing but left for the Dr apt. Of course, I got the dirty looks from co-workers about where do you think your going.  Never mind I have 3 weeks vacation and for the last two years have lost more than a week each year.
This year I'm taking my vacation if I have to do  it a day at a time.

Anyway not much going on, work is stressful as I'm working on a project and we are rolling out a new system.  They keep inching the go live date up, by calling it transition, but if I have to I stay late and I will get done what I need to do.

Everyone have  a blessed day.

Good Morning Christine and Illinois Frineds!

Well, I made it through Monday!  Some weeks that is an accomplishment.  Yesterday was a good day at work.  Everything went well, and customers were nice.  Shhh dont tell anyone as I would like a repeat day today.  I ended up taking 2 days off last week as I was getting really burned out and I think that is just what I needed, so I had a nice long weekend.

They announced a cube decoraing contest yesterday and I went out and got stuff last night to start "repanelling" my walls.  It will be nice and cheery.  I am looking forward to something other than boring beige!

Got my knee shots yesterday so my knees are feeling 200% better.  I love it!

Hope everyone has a great day!

My cube walls are beige too.  Do all of  these people shop at the same place or something.

We had a Christmas decorating contest one year (back before this place bought us out.  now we have no fun) and I won.  I turned my cube into "Santa's workshop"  !!!

Hello everyone

I went to my education class yesterday.  It was about 4 hours, lots of info.  I have to start my liquid diet and I'm not looking forward to that.  Its seems I will be constantly hungry for the next two weeks.  Just to make it easier I went through my cabinets and packed up everything that will tempt me and brought it to work.  I will give the food to someone here at work.  Some of that food I wouldn't be able to eat for a year so might as well get rid of it.  May I add...I'm so excited.  I can't believe this is really going to happen.  We also got some goodies-  a pedometer, excersise bands, a protein counter book, and a CD ROM with all the info we went over.  I think I'm set to go now

When I got home last night I checked the mail and my daughter sent me a card.  It was a card to say she believes I can do it.  But she wrote a poem she said reminded her of me from Shel Silverstein.  Here it is-

All of the woulda-coulda-shouldas
Layin' in the sun,
Talkin' bout the things
They woulda-coulda-shoulda done...
But those woulda-coulda-shouldas
All ran away and hid
From one little DID!!!

Isn't that so sweet.  I really am so lucky to have a daughter like that.

Have a nice soggy day...

Hello everyone-
I am newer here, just had surgery one week ago today!  I am going to my doctor today for my one week check up, get the drain and staples removed, etc.  I also will get weighed officially.  I think my scale is different from theirs by alot so I have not wanted to update my weight loss yet!  Anyone have a suggestion for a good scale?

Then after my appt I am going to pick up a cake for my daughter, Cassie's, bday tomorrow, she will be 5.  (We have a almost 7 year old, Jessie, and and 8 1/2 year old, Tyler too).  I also need to wrap presents and pick up cookies for her preschool class!  Her presents are being delivered today, thank goodness.  I ordered them after my surgery since I could not go shopping.  My mother is going to help me with all this today luckily since I cannot drive yet.  I have alot of very supportive friends and family.

That being said, can you tell me how long any of you were on the pain meds for?  Is it normal that I cannot get off them yet because the pain is too bad?  My husband is worried about me taking it for too long, I do not normally take narcotics.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!  Time to get dressed to see what my new life brings today!

HI Jen:

You are doing FABULOUS!!!!  I can't believe that you have so much to do today!  At one week out, I was still kind of hibernating.
I'm sure that I took the pain medicine on schedule for at least that first week.  Then, I returned to work for half-days so I only took it in the evening, with Tylenol during the day.
I KNOW that I had to sleep in the recliner for more than 2 weeks because the bed was just too uncomfortable.  I remember asking my doctor at the 2 week check up if the pain from the largest incision would EVER go away.  They assured me that it would and one day, it just did!  Each day was a little better and of course, I am now pain free  (I would hope so after 2.5 years!   hehehehe)!

Just remember that you have had MAJOR surgery and allow yourself to recover.  Each day WILL be a bit better than the last!

Tell someone that you love them!

Good morning everyone!

It's exciting to see all the newbies here. Welcome and keep coming back. You'll get a lot of support here!

It looks like a busy day today at work which is fine--the day goes faster that way. It sure is warmer even though it's a gray day. You can tell spring is coming.

Have a good day and be grateful!
