Wednesday Roll Call
Just look at the light at the end of the tunnel or watch the carrot dangling from the stick and go for the prize. If you keep from thinking about it and occupy yourself with other things the time will go fast. Try warm liquids as they seem to satisfy you longer. You will still get hungry because that is inevitable, jus****ch for the prize.
Look forward to hearing what the doc says about the pill you are on. BC pills can cause blood clots so be prepared to have to come off of them.

I was told the first three days are the worst. I do admit my stomach is already growling. I'm not tempted to cheat or anything, but I am hungry (and it's someone's birthday and there's goodies around). My stomach is making lots of noise right now. But I'm sooo motivated to stick to this diet. So don't worry about me.
I would like any tips anyone has. I have Jello, popsicles and broth. Does anyone have any thing that helped them through this.

It looks like you are on the right track.
The trick is to keep you mind off of it, even if you have to stick your fingers in your ears and say "lalalalalalalalalalalalala"
Just try to stay busy, especially these first few days.
Connie said that adding a bit of garlic to the broth made it more like "food" and I tried it and it also worked for me. You can buy the broth with garlic, but I just added a couple of shakes of garlic powder. I suppose you could take it a step further and add other herbs also.

It's more a head game for me. After 2 days, I was doing great. Really had no problem with the liquid diet and be prepared to lose some weight.. I think I lost 19lbs.. wahoo! You will do just fine. Like the others said, just keep focused on the reward after that liquid diet.
Your big day will be here before you know it!

Crystal, I don't want to scare you or worry you, but I was on those birth control pills before surgery as well and it was also for bleeding and staying regular..however not only did I HAVE to stop them becaue of the increased risk of blood clots, I had to be off of them for a full month before they would do my surgery.
I hope this won't be the case for you, but be forewarned sweetie!
also you might get your period within days of having surgery too, because of the hormone changes. I did!
You know what I don't understand is that I was taking them when I had my gallbladder surgery with no problems. I'm having LapBand surgery so it's not any riskier than gallbladder surgery. Well I will do what ever they want me to. Did you have lots of problems coming off your birth control? Do you still have problems. My gynecologists seems to think the problem might get better since a lot of these issues are related to obesity.
Good morning Christine and the rest of Illinois!
I am working today then going to the school to work out on the machines. Liv stayed after last night, but did not come into the fitness center until I was almost done. She claimed that she couldn't find me.....HA! Where ELSE would I be? I think that she is feeling ambivalent about joining me. I am going to try not to push her and just hope that she will join me eventually. It would be much better for her to workout than sit in front of the computer or TV, but I guess all lifestyle changes take time. I warmed up on a recumbent bike for 10 minutes, did all but one of the machines (2 sets on most) then cooled down with 15 minutes on the treadmill. Not bad, I say.
I have "A Day in Rock City" meeting tonight. We are meeting with the village board and the local tavern owner to discuss having something on the Friday night before. It will be interesting because they all have big ideas bit no bodies to make it happen. We as a committee are figuring that they will want US to take care of it for them.......NOT! This is my last year being on the committee. In the future, I want to be able to sit on my porch and enjoy all the day has to offer without being responsible for it all. Plus, I enjoy having lots of company that day and night.
Tomorrow evening, we close on our refinance of the house. We need to get some roofing estimates so that can be taken care of soon. We are also hoping for a new deck and fire pit, but we will see what the roofers have to say first.
Well, back to work for me at the moment. Nancy, I hope you get over the cold soon. I think that the change in weather makes our bodies more susceptible to the germs and viruses that are floating in the air. Todd has had a cold for a couple of weeks now. It seems that he is getting better, then it comes back. I'm not sure if it is the same cold or different ones in succession.
Everyone have a magnificent day, stay warm and tell someone you love them!
