Thursday Roll Call
Good Morning Christine and the rest of IL!
I am like you Chris, I want to get out and start playing in my garden. Last year it looked terrbile because I was still having such a hard time bending down and doing things after my 2 surgeries, one being the open one! This year I plan on making it look awesome!
Today I have to do laundry, vacuum and dust the house and just do some gerneral cleaning things. We are having a party here on Saturday for my neice's 8th, my Tyler's 15th and my dad's 75th birthdays! They are all within 2 weeks of each other so we just combine them and since my house seems to be in the central point for family, it's here! lol Other than that, it's picking TYler and Jacob up later from after school activities and dinner...it's a good TV night, so I'll be watching that later too! lol
I hope everyone has a wonderful, warm and safe day today!

Monica, the green color is in honor of the fact that the green grass is around the corner.
I am there with you for being able to get outside into the dirt. As I am generally not a person to complain about the weather (because it is what it is and God has His plans and they generally are not ours) I will say that I am anxious to get outside and futz around

Good morning Christine and the rest of Illinois!
I hope Dave's trip was fruitful for him and he travels safely.
I am working today, late because my boss went to Las Vegas for a bowling tournament. He won't be bac****il next Wednesday, so that is nice. Things are always less stressful around here when he is gone. I also get to work more hours to mind the shop so the paycheck will look a bit better in 2 weeks.
After work, we are closing on the refinance then home for a dinner of left overs. The boys have Scouts and Liv and I will watch the rest of "Anna and the King". I will probably take my new stationary bike for a spin while I watch.
We are invited to a St. Patrick's party in Chicago this Saturday, so I am working on making arrangements for the kids so Todd can come with me. This is at my brother's "club" and it is always good to spend time with him.
Not too much else at the moment.
GO CRYSTAL, GO CRYSTAL!!!!!! You are doing awesome!
Everyone have a lovely day and tell someone that you love them.

Good morning everyone-
Well I went to my doctor for my one week checkup Tues and he took out the drain that was put in during the RNY surgery last week. Ever since the drain came out the excruciating pain I was having is gone on my right side!!! Coincidence or not I am happy it is gone! I have to say I am so happy, I was down 17 pounds from when I started the pre-op diet. I had gained some weight while in the hospital from all the fluids so I am so excited that I am down that much one week post op!
Yesterday was my youngest daughter's bday, she turned 5. We celebrated with family! They had cake and a nice dinner, I had my carnation instant breakfast which was yummy! I am able to add full liquids this week so it is so wonderful! I have added soup that is strained, which tastes like heaven to me! I am going to add s/f pudding today!
I was told when I was at the doctor that when I go on my cruise on the 28th that since I will have done a week of the pureed diet, I can eat really soft soft foods while on my cruise. That will make things so much easier so I can eat with everyone else and not be worried about it! I am so excited!
I think that is it! Sorry this is so long but alot has gone on this week so far! Today me and Cassie, my now 5 year old, are relaxing and maybe going to get a ride to the grocery store later! I am still on the pain meds and cannot drive yet!
Have a happy Thursday everyone!
Oh yeah it is my birthday tomorrow, who knows what it will bring, but I know I am on track to a healthier me!

Jen,
Happy birthday early. I wanted to let you know that I went on a cruise 7 weeks post op. I had scrambled eggs or oatmeal for breakfast. I tried taking in a lot of soups. If you can get cottage cheese that is good. They have yogurt also.
I did make one mistake. I thought I could eat lobster because it was soft. It was too richfor me and I ended up dumping. Protein is so important so you might want to bring packets of protein that can e added to water. You also can get skim milk which also has protein.
You need to not think about the food. Think about how much fun you'll have and it will be warm. There are also some protein flavor packets like fruit punch that can be added.
I had a great time on my trip and not eating was okay.
