Friday Roll Call

Dee,
I am glad your nephew is home, It could be that you will never know what kind of infection it was.
Family or friends can only take advantage of you if you have let them. The kids are your sister's grandchildren? Why hasn't she been watching them for her kids? If she is mad, its probably for another reason, and this is just what is currently available to her to use against you.
You can make Corned beef and Cabbage. Just go and get one, the instuctions are on the lable. Just add your potates and carrots later in the cooking process and the cabbage the last 30 min or so.

Hi Dee!
I will tell you my secret to corned beef that will melt in your mouth if you promise not to tell anyone else..........
Buy the "flat cut" of corned beef. It is a little more expensive, but worth it as the "point cut" has a lot more fat that just makes less actual meat to eat.
Put the meat and seasoning packet (this comes with the meat) in a pot and just cover (about an inch) with COLD water. Put the pot on the stove over medium-high heat and bring to just before boiling. DO NOT BOIL! Here's the secret.........turn the pot down to a slow simmer and cook OVERNIGHT, or at least 8 hours. This will also work in a crock pot. Onions can be added now if desired.
I use baby red potatoes, baby carrots and cabbage cut into wedges. About an hour before serving, add in the potatoes and carrots. About a half an hour before serving, add the cabbage.
Take meat out and slice against the grain and enjoy!

Good morning all!
Another busy weekend. Tomorrow I am getting Henry's 4 year pics done at Sears. Then I have to drive up to the south subs for my cousins play - a musical with 80's music, should be fun.
Sunday we have a baby shower and then the big Sunday dinner at our house. I am going to make a pork roast in the crock so it will cook while I am at the shower.
That means I have to clean tonight - yuck. I used to have a cleaning lady but she went back to nursing and I never found anyone else to do it. I need to get on that!
I hope it warms up today!
Happy B-Day Jen!

More sunshine for me today. I walked out by the lake yesterday. This is what I grew up calling a pond but I guess Valley Pond would not have made a good street name. I would have walked more but the picnic tables are missing. I hope they just took them in for the winter and they were not swiped. I am back up four pounds this week. Less than I thought I would be and later than I thought it would come. Hopefully that will be all. Which reminds me I have not taken my morning meds.
I hoped you enjoyed the sunshine. Sorry that I did not get back to you sooner but was busy at work.
Yes, in this area they will take the tables in so the snow does not cause them to rot or if they are plastic then get all gunky from dirt (pollution and dirt in general). Sometimes forest preserves will just store them on an angle so when the snow melts the water just runs off. Then again in some areas they are concerned about criminal damage and it is just easier to store them away so they are not tagged or hacked up by ********ers.
Good to see you getting out and exercising in the sun so you absorb your Vit-D better.
Do not let the #dage get you. Even after WLS your will flucuate. I have this week by 2#s. I heard at a WW meeting that the #s you see on a scale on one day reflects what you ate the week (7 days ago) before, not just the couple of days before.
