Sour creamed based food cannot be frozen. As you cannot freeze something with mayo, some pastas, scambled eggs. . . there are probably more.
We freeze just about everything:
chili, stew, pot roast, poultry, soups, roasts. Look at what is frozen at the store with convenience dinners and you can freeze just about all that they do also but keep in mind that they flash freeze the food in giant freezers. You might not be able to freeze say mashed potatoes or some pastas real well at home.

When I am really trying to skimp and save I usually buy a whole chicken frier.
They are usually about 80 cents a pound.
I put in a couple potatoes, garlic + onion powders, maybe a bullion cube and what ever else I feel like dumping in with it and Boil it down in a crock pot Until the bones are falling out of it.
Take the bones out. Then throw the crock pot in the fridge over night. (This makes all the fat and grease float to the top where you can scrape it off and throw it out.)
Then plug the crock pot back in, then drain and dump cans of veggies into the broth.
I use the Aldi brand Greenbeans, corn, peas, carrots, and maybe a can of mixed veggies.
Then let it simmer for about another hour.
The mixture with the potatoes, and chicken being slightly overcooked turns into a chicken stew without using corn starch or whatever to thicken it.
I then scoop it into 1 cup containers and freeze them. (the ones that make it to the freezer)

It is really good stuff. I dump some hot sauce in it and chow down.
Makes a fat guy happy!
Another thing,
Make turkey chili. I cook alot in the crockpot. It is my favorite.
Brown some ground turkey in a pan.
Throw it in the crock pot with a couple cans of stewed tomatoes, couple cans of red beans, can or 2 of black beans, onion powder chili powder, garlic powder, maybe some hot peppers, or green pepers. (I can't eat greens yet

Let it simmer for a couple hours and YUMMY!
Freeze what is left over.
I probably have 30 / 1 cup containers in my freezer of different things right now.

Soups, chili, any cassarole. Buy your meat in bulk when its on sale. Such as whole hams with or without the bone. Have it sliced into steaks or a few steaks and some roast. You can also have them shaved for sandwiches ect. Same with pork loins. Have them cut into chops or half chops and the rest as a roast. Beef roast can be cut into steaks are cut up as stew meat. Ususally the bigger the peice, the better perpound price.
