Friday Roll Call

I hope all of you that are under the weather start feeling better soon and those looking for jobs find the perfect job for them quickly. Crystal I wish you the best on your upcoming surgery.
I have been away for too long and have missed you all. Things are getting better here although still so hectic with getting our granddaughters back and forth to school and activities and Earl & I have had so many doctor appts in between. I love having my grands but they do wear me out. Most days I can't get on the computer until the evening, unless I don't have the girls. We did get to go south for one week while they were on spring break since they spent that week with their dad. We went to Alabama and had a great time with my dear sister from another mother. The break of routine and my sister, Sher, helped me to get back on track with my food. My weight is still stuck but I know why and now feel like I am back on track and will start losing again.
I think I am finally over this virus that has lingered since December. I have had so many tests and seen so many doctors but think the ENT has gotten to the bottom of everything. I see him next Tuesday to get the results from the Thyroid Nuclear Scan, as long as that is ok and no cancer, all will be great, the biopsy was non specific. To make a long story short I have been having lots of trouble swallowing, the endo. thinks the thyroid nodule had grown. The ENT thinks I may have GERD so put me on Zantac which seems to have helped some. Also I have had a sinus infection since December thanks to the lousy virus, so after the 3rd round of antibiotics that seems to have cleared up. Cat scan of the sinuses on Tues to make sure. Now I just need some more warm weather!! Earl has recovered nicely from his hand surgery in January but is putting off the other hand till August.
I wanted to get out in the yard and start working but it is still way to muddy. I am anxious to get our garden going although it is way to early. Being in Alabama last week and seeing all the green got me in spring mood.
Hugs to all, Paulette
Good evening to all of you kids. Sorry, that I was not able to respond to each of you today. I did go in several times and checked what was going on with all of you after I saw a face pop up as a resonder.
I did not get to leave work when I wanted to as I had a states attorney calling me on the phone and whining - What should I do and what do you want me to say about blah blah blah? I thought you make the big bucks (and I pay part of your salary with my taxes) and went to law school why are you asking me? For some stupid reason I decided to take her call ( and another call from her) after I came back from the village hall (I know stupid on my part, should have said send to voice mail). I ended up having to fax a warrant and complaint to a jail in downstate IL. Now, mind you this all rests on the fact that the sheriff's jail (DuPage, but you did not hear that from me) dropped the ball LAST August and would not serve a faxed copy of a warrant (electronic copies are served all the time, followed up by the originals being sent to court).
Fast forward to the fact that the defendant is already serving time on OUR complaint in a downstate federal PEN for this charge BUT the computers still show our warrant. The fact of the matter is that the county has EGG on their face with this because someone at the jail was too lazy to handle this situation.
I will get off of my soap box now. The fact of the whole thing is that I am fighting for my job on the local level and they are lazy a$$ wipe$ that get away with things like this and I have to clean up after them. And this states attorney asked me what she should tell the judge that I said he should do.????!!!!!! Time for me to retire. And I pay these knuckle heads salaries via my taxes.
Fast forward to when I got home. Dave and I got out in the yard and got some more of the leaves cleaned up. No, it was not a hoppy time in the wet mucky mess. I have one small patch to rake (about 10X10) and several piles that I raked after we put about 6 of the lawn paper sacks in the garage. Note to self to buy more of the lawn sacks.
More than likely I will be sleeping in tomorrow (Saturday Roll Call is up for anyone to do) because we have a wedding and reception in Burr Ridge/Darien on Saturday and we are staying there overnight.
