Any recommendations?

Hello Illinois!  I was wondering if anyone had a doctor they could recommend for me.  I currently live in Minnesota & had the lap band procedure done 12/3/08.  I am thinking about moving back home, but would need to find a lap band doctor.  Does anyone know of any around the Elgin area?

Hello and welcome. There are a number of WLS doctors in the western 'burbs. I do not know of any in Elgin. My doctor is in Downers Grove and has great success with band patients. ChristinaP's husband had his band with Dr Rosen and we have Grandma_2 (AKS as Karen) that had her band also with Dr R. There are a number of IL members that went with the Kane Group that had the band. Morgismom (Lisa), Kim M, Lucy M, Janet Kwiek, Marilyn M to name a few. The Kane Group is out of Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove Village and St Alexis in Hoffman Estates. There also is a WLS group of doctors out of Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield but I do not know anything about them.

Hello and thank-you for the info, I appreciate it.   I'll have to do some checking around, I'm sure there are plenty of lap band docs out in the burbs.  If I move back, it won't be until December so I have plenty of time.

Well, look at a map for the far western 'burbs to see if the doctor is in you area. I have family in Elgin which is 20 miles from me in Itasca. Come back if you have more questions.

 I think people who live in Elgin tend to go with the Kane Cener doctors.  They have offices in Arlington Heights and Elk Grove Village.  I used to live in Elgin for over 20 years and work  in the Elgin school district.  I never went to the Kane Center myself.

I live SW of Aurora now and went with Doctor Rosen in Downers Grove.  I have really liked the care I have gotten from all the people on his staff.  Driving out there from Bartlett (east of RT 25-bout 4 miles from Elgin) isn't that bad, about 40-45 minutes without taking any expressways.
