Sunday Roll Call
Good morning to all of you in IL.
No Easter basket for this girl but I do have my basket on the table from when I was a kid with ceramic eggs and a crochet bunny and crochet chickie in it. I never was a big candy eater.
Anything special going on in your world today? We have brunch at Truffles Grove then back home, hopefully my brother and SIL will come back. They have not seen our new addition in the living room.

I did eat too much yesterday. Not too, too much though. Trying to wrap my mind around eating subsistance week after next.
Just a short trip out today with DW to serve in volunteer central.
I cannot believe how few have posted today so far. I will take that to mean family and hopefully the message of hope in the risen Messiah will be spread to all. By faith Abraham.
Back home then to reach a point in C# so I can concentrate on the taxes on Monday. It should be much easier thisyear as everything is in Illinois this year.

Randy, did you see the service yesterday? I really liked his message. Dave went up and put his card in the "work" bucket on stage. Liked the theme of the stage but I miss the "brightness" of the prior Easter stages. But I do believe the team was trying to reach a different audience and it was very much relevant for the time era.
I have put an e-mail into my NUT asking if it is healthy for us to do the 2009 Celebration of Hope challenge. We have our cups cleaned and waiting for us. Hopefully we can and if not we will just financially give what we can and serve at one of the meal packing events that we can.
For those of you that do not understand what I am saying here is the link to our challenge at Willow. Five Day Challenge= http://www.willowcreek.org/coh/challenge/ & 2009 Celebration of Hope = http://www.willowcreek.org/coh/mealpack/

Yes I did see the program yesterday. My head was not really there though. In Houston I normally skipped Easter and Christmas services. Sure it is a time that many will come and perhaps actually hear what is said. For me though that is what every day should be. I would have liked to see more of a celebration as well but I love the thoughts an heart that Bill has for those who are hurting now and those who will face those hurts soon that may gain some resolve to press on from words they did not know they needed to hear.
I have had beans and cornbread as part of our meal plans thislast week and beans are cooking right now for next week. Even at that though we have a ham bone in ours that many do not have. About this time in Texas the first snap beans are coming in and the last put up from last year are being finished off. We need a lot of Josephs in this world today and brothers willing to accept that they need forgiving.

Good Morning to all,
Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates. We will be going to dinner with our kids this afternoon.
I did make up a small basket for my GD. And, I will take some bars I made to the adults.
This morning we have been trying to figure out our new Busnell binocular/camera. I think we got it.
Christine, where is Truffles Grove? It sounds interesting.
Randy- why do you wait until 3 days before its due, to do your taxes? That would drive me totaly nuts.
Carol, have a great day.
Have a great day,
Hugs

Lisa, Truffles Grove is in Itasca at Rohlwing Rd (old Rt 53) and Irving Park Rd (Rt 19). It used to be called Mug Pub, (then a midevil theme with tin or pewter type of mugs and plates). The menu has slightly changed but they kept the open faced Ruben, cottage fries and French Dip sandwiches etc, fantastic! They have a great menu the rest of the week for sandwiches, chops, steak and fish. They are only open for lunch and dinner. It is your basic Chicago area Greek owned restaurant.
Dave and I used to not file our taxes until the 15Th (or actually mail them) because we always owed money and we did not want the government to get our money until the last minute. The taxes were done at H & R before that but not postmarked until the 15Th.
Keep us posted on your new camera/binocs. I did not know there was that kind of a combo.

Yep Christine, they do have them camera Binoculars. Hubert wanted them to go to Alaska with us. I honestly can't see anything through them, I get to nervous to use something tlike that. BTW, have you received any conformation on the tickets for the OH event in June?

I have actually gotten better. I usually either file an extension or wait until the last day. Sort of a tradition. I had a real estate brokerage in Houston in some space I subleased in a frinds CPA firm. I would do mine with his help the last day and then I would take all of his late filers and extensions with mine down to toss them in the buckets on the street between lines of postal employees, Houston Police and flares.
