Anything on this surgeon ?
Hello there I am starting the process to have weight loss surgery done. I have gotten insurance approved for it all and had a consult but didn't get to see the surgeon I saw his assistant so didn't talk or see him.
I was just wondering if anyone has had him for a surgeon or knows anyone that has had him

Hi Kim,
I'm just starting the process as well...started Health Alliance HMO's 6 month counseling on 4/3/09 and just went to the Bariatric Program Orientation this past Tuesday.
Dr. Hammer actually came into the orientation and spoke for a bit, which was nice. I have two friends who have had him as a surgeon (one for appendix and one for spinal surgery) and they both liked him a lot.
My first meeting with the insurance coordinator and program coordinator is Monday, so I'm looking forward to it.
If you'd like to keep in touch through the process, that would be awesome!

Yes I would love to keep in touch through this. It is nice to have somone to talk to that is going through what you are going through.
I don't know if you want to do it through this or if you would rather do emails either way is fine with me.
Which are you hoping to have done the bypass or the Lapband ? I thought that I wanted the Lapband until I went to the seminar then I thought I wanted the bypass now I am thinking that I would like the Lapband again I have so much weight to lose though I am about 375 right now I am five seven so I have that on my side.
