Friday Roll Call

Hello everyone

I'm glad it'sFriday but I'm not glad that my daughter leaves tomorrow...already!!!!

Her boyfriend drove 2 1/2 hours one way,  yesterday to spend the day with her before she leaves.  I thought that was sweet.  He is really good guy.

I have happy news..I'm wearing a pair of pants I havn't been able to get into for 5 years.  YEAH!!!  People are saying they can see that I'm losing weight but I don't see it when I look in the mirror.  I mean I know I'm losing but I can't tell by looking in the mirror.  I suspect they are just trying to be nice.

Yeah it is Friday!  Happy Memorial Day Weekend!    I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.  Crystal, I am sorry your daughter leaves tomorrow.  That sure was a short week.  

It looks like another beautiful day.  I had yesterday off work.  The eye is still bugging me so I put in for a day off.  Besides, I wanted to enjoy the wonderful weather!

No special plans for me this weekend other than to find my warm weather clothes. They seem to have gone AWOL.  I don't know if they all became too big and I bagged them up for donation or if they are hidden.  We shall soon see if Nancy is going naked or has a problem here.

It's gonna be another nice day out today.  yay!
Crystal, I'm sorry that your time with your daughter is ending for now, but think of all the great opportunities she's gonna have this summer.  Like I have said before, I am totally jealous of her, getting to spend the summer at my favorite place!!  lol
Nancy, I hope your eye gets better soon, I have never heard of a sty lasting this long. 

As for me, I went to the Dr yesterday and while I don't have a hernia, I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia.  I now have a blood glucose meter to use whenever I have an episode.  Not a big deal to me actually, I will really watch what I am eating and see what triggers it.  The Dr thinks that the pain on my side is from muscles and a ton of scar tissue that he can feel. If it doesn't get better, or it continues to get worse, then I go for a CT scan.

Today, the 2 youngest are home from school and I just sent Tyler off for a 1/2 day.  I don't know yet what we will be doing today....just enjoying the weather I suppose.  Jacob, Mike and I went for a 3.5 mile bike ride yesterday too...it felt so good!

Paul, I think I would be too embarassed!  LOL  of course it's not like you don't know that I had gastric bypass and have a lot of saggy skin...LOL
How much would it cost?  it's certainly worth a try I suppose.  Where is the clinic at?

 It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood!!!  I gave an absolutely great massage to a client last night and we shared some wonderful conversation.  Then this morning, Liz and I had a nice walk and the day is looking toward great promise.  I met yesterday with another therapist who is going to do sales for the company as well as being on my team of therapists.  Today we are going to get her a massage chair.  Then this afternoon, Liz will be home early (summer hours) and will be bringing the bike that I will probably be buying.  I'm so excited.  Meredith is up and watching Dora, and I'm typing to all my great friends!  And even though the scale is saying I haven't lost weight, my size 38 pants (did I mention that the last time I wore size 38 was in the early 90's?) are falling off and I'm on the forth belt hole (this belt didn't even fit at all last year!).  I've asked Liz to get me a pair of size 36's for my birthday next week.  I haven't worn size 36 since birth!  Pinch me, I think I'm dreaming!  I hope each and every one of you, my friends, has a wonderful day and a great holiday weekend.  And as an end note, let's all spend a moment thinking of all those who sacraficed for us and gave their lives.  Let's think of the true purpose of Memorial Day for just a moment.  Now we can go back to our BBQing!

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

I know that you will miss your daughter, but she will have a great time.  As far as people being able to see the loss, I am sure that they can.  WE are so used to looking at ourselves in a certain way that our brains kind of hold onto that image and it takes a while for our brains to catch up and see what is really there.  I could not see any difference either for the first 3-4 months, but I got lots of comments.

I am working today and have to put in a full day since my boss is leaving at noon.  That's OK....it makes up for taking the day off on Monday and Fridays are really slow, so I can catch up on some stuff.

We have parties to attend and David is going to an outdoor concert on Sunday.  Liv is supposed to work at the museum on Sunday also and for some strange reason, we had them signed up for Monday.  I am thinking of calling and telling them that I made a mistake and to see if they can find replacements.  I don't have any reason to come into town on Monday.

I finally got a couple of the gardens in last night!!!!!  I got all the peppers planted and the little flower garden by the back door with mulch spread over both.  I got a good deal done removing all the violets from the front garden and if the rain holds off, I will finish that one tonight.

The temps here are supposed to be in the 70's, but it looks like rain right now.

Crystal, your daughter is going to have a great summer,and build up lots of good memories. Remember, you raised her to be an independent person, so now she gets to try her wings.

Monica, my DH has been hyper. for years.

My world today  is going to be cleaning 2 rooms that I didn't do yesterday, a couple of errands, and getting out in the sun. I may even get some laundry folded. Nothing exciting.

Saturday, my daughters and I are heading to Lake Geneva for the day. No other plans for this 1st weekend of summer. We leave for vacation on  6/18.

If you are leaving for the weekend, drive safe, stay alert for weird drivers, and be careful.

Good morning Crystal and Illinois!

Crystal enjoy the day with your daughter. Have you taken before and during pictures? I bet you will notice the difference in the pictures. That is where I saw the differences, not in the mirror. It takes the brain a lot longer to take hold of the new and improved you. Last summer I had my husband point out people that he thought were my size. I always picked the wrong people. Usually the ones I picked were heavier than me. I think I'll have him to that again this summer since I've lost more weight. It really is fun to people watch.

This weekend we are going to a retirement party for an old friend we haven't seen in about 10 years. His daughter found my son on facebook and the rest is history. Monday we will bbq at Dans house. Mike and Michelle are finally moving into their new house this weekend! I can't wait to go there again.

 I constantly look in the mirror and think I am still heavy and haven't accomplished as much as I thought I would.  Then I see a picture from last year and I hardly recognize myself.  We are so numbers oriented that we don't realize how much more is changing other than the number on the scale.  Look at those old pictures and then look in the mirror and you will be amazed!  Also, pay attention to all the health improvements that are going on.  This morning while doing our walk, my wife got a leg cramp and as I was massaging it out, I realized that I haven't had any feet or leg problems in a long time.  Prior to my surgery, I had to wear special shoes and always had feet and leg problems.  I hadn't even noticed this great improvement!  You may also want to put a ticker in your signature so you can actually watch the small achievments and see how much they really are adding up.  You're doing great and we all see it!
