Friday Roll Call
Good morning everyone! Today is the beginning of a four day weekend for me and I am thrilled to be not busy.
There was an interesting article in the OH magazine recently talking about restriction. It said "it is not that that the band keeps food from going through it--it is the act of food going through the band that allows the satiety mechanism to go into effect". Therefore restriction is not a tight band as much as "solid food, slowly eaten, provides prolonged appetite suppression". So the article goes on to say for both band and RNY folks "eat small portions slowly".
I ate my breakfast much more slowly than usual and I feel fuller than usual. Eating slowly seems to be a lifelong learning process. I do eat slower than I did, but not as slowly as I could. I thought the article was great.
