Good Morning IL  -

Wake up, Wake up.... you sleepy heads.  It promises to be a beautiful day today.  I'm sure lots of grilling will be in store for many.  I have yard work today then have to work at 4:30.  I'm not looking forward to working tonight as I'm sure it will be a slow night.  Oh well, you take the good w/ the bad.
So what's going on in your neck of the woods?

Good Morning  Christina,

The sun is out, its Sunday, the Indy 500 is on today (wish we had tickets), and we are in the middle of a 3 day weekend.

I took my coffee out to the porch swing this morning. That is one of my favorite summer activities. The birds are singing and I counted 5 robins looking for food on my little front yard.

Today I need to do a couple of loads of laundry, and a bit of picking up.  then i want to grill dinner out. Not sure what it will be, but it won't be beef. I still can't eat it. Other then that, just relax. DH uncovered the pool yesterday, so I might have to go to get chemicals. I know we are out of everything but chorine tablets.

yesterday, the girls and I drove up to Lake Geneva. For the Saturday of Memorial Day, it was extreamly empty. Very few boats in the harbors, very few picniks, and we like to go to Popeyes for lunch, and no lines there either. It was different!

Thats what is happening in my world. Hope yours is more exciting today.

Hello everyone

Well I took Amanda to the train station yesterday.  I was sad to see her go but I was excited for her too.  I really hope this will be lots of fun for her and educational (she will be on the restoration crew).  She will be taking lots of pictures.  Her boyfriend is going to visit her this summer too.  They are so cute together.  I was shocked at how much stuff she packed in 2 suitcases.  When she gets to Knoxville her boss is going to pick her up and take her grocery shopping and then they will head to Gatlinburg.

I can't wait till my next fill in 2 weeks.  I just don't have enough restriction.

I don't have any plans this holiday weekend.  So I am going to clean and relax.  I hope everyone enjoys their holiday.       

 

Good morning Christina and Illinois friends.
I have one more load of DH laundry to do.
We had a great time at my  yesterday!  We were there longer then I thought we would be. Our GD now follows grandpa around saying papa walk.. So he got some very needed exercise...
Today the other daughter is coming over so that grandpa can see our other grandson. This one is so loving he will be hugging grandpa.The grandkids have not seen him in 3 months. He brought trinkets for them all even the litlle girl that lives next door to my youngest daughter, since she is all ways there he thought she would feel left out.
So I guess I should get up and dressed. Coffee is ready....

HI all,

Up getting ready to get the kids up for church. It is a beautiful day. 

I am sitting here on the patio wondering how my patio table can hold the 50 lbs of bird poop that is on it.

I have a bird's nest on the down spout for my gutter. I can hear the little babies in there screeching for some food. I think their mom is the bird that tries to kill me when I go in the yard to check on my tomato plants. She keeps pretty close guard over the nest.

Went to Mom's Saturday all day. Had a good time. It is so nice doing work around her house now that I have lost a bunch of weight. I dug out a couple big plants out by her mail box. (I have no idea what they are) and transplanted them to the side of her house. I also trimmed her Lilac bushes. (I trimmed them suckers about 2 foot tall.  They were like 12 feet tall. There were stumps in them about 4 inches in diameter. I have never seen Lilac bush stumps that big. So they look like hell now. There is big gaps in them where I cut out these huge stumps to make room for younger branches to grow in. I hope they look better in a few weeks when they fill back in.

Today, church then maybe a cookout. I haven't decided. I have been dating a lady who lives about a mile away from my house.  She likes to walk, so we usually go for real long walks. (Like 6-8 miles) So, maybe I will talk her into going for a big long walk. Then coming by for a cookout. I have a ton of chicken.

Good morning!

Grilling is the word today! We already had breakfast on the patio and sat and read the paper.

I started reading Jodi Picoult's new book which focuses on a family with a daughter with OI (osteogenic imperfecta--where her bones break all the time) and ended up reading until 2 AM. Great book--don't start it at bedtime! A nap is in my future!

 Good Morning Friends!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!  I cant believe we have had so many pretty days in a row!  I am loving it.  Today I am going to exchange summer and winter clothes.  Bag up some more clothes and find more room in my bedroom.  

I had Dish TV installed yesterday and bought a new HDTV to celebrate my new service.  My old TV is now in my bedroom.  I have never had a TV in my bedroom so that will be a new experience.  

I cant believe we still have 2 days before it is time to go back to work.  I am loving it!  

Today, my knees are really bothering me so it probably means rain coming.  So take advantage of this beautiful day!

Hi Lisa Nancy and Christina and everyone else.....
My friend and I got to Denver a week ago Today. It was a long drive the first day after we met Lisa and Nancy for lunch it rained all day traveling so we stopped in Des Moines for the night. I realized I left my computer in my daughters car so I am without it.
We are having a blast. We went camping for 2 nights in the mountains, Just seeing the sites in Denver and such and seeing friends. My friends dads 90 th birthday is tomorrow and we are having a party for him June 6th. Ill be back in Chicago on June 10 or 11th in time for the OH event.

Not much going on this morning.  I have been on Atkins this week and will stay on it at least another week.  I grilled a bunch last week so we still have hamburger and steak left from that.  Maybe I will grill some hot links and chicken breast today and take out a roaster to cook tomorrow.  I am missing church this morning as my body was not ready before time for Sherry to leave and pick upa neighbor. I will likely watch a little Crystal Cathedral.  We already watched last weeks Willow.  Lee Strobel told a very cute and revealing story at the beginning of it.  I am going to also find the RNY forum as well.  Since I have met my surgeon and the only real roadblock left could be the cardiologist approval I am feeling like this is more real now. I have begun to try to get the rules over to Sherry more now since she will be a part of this as well.

Definately porch swing weather on the balcony for me as well.

Good afternoon Christina and the rest of Illinois!

I had to bring Liv in to work at the museum today, so I stopped by my office to check my email and other computer things since my home computer is needing repair.

We survived both graduation parties yesterday and today I need to pick up a few things at a couple of stores then I am picking up Liv, then Riley as she is coming out to spend the night.

Tomorrow, we are having a big neighborhood food fest.....we are doing a shrimp boil, one neighbor is frying the turkey and another is doing london broil.  We will have salads and stuff to fill in and hangout in the yard together for the day.

I finally got some of my planting done and I have more containers to fill.  Maybe I will bet that done tonight and tomorrow.
