Question Please
I am still waiting on insurance. First they approved me for the Loyola Univesity and then I found out last week that they don't go Gastric Bypass anymore. SO now they have to negotiate the conditions with a new "group" my doc says and then I will find out where. And it is just a referral for a consultation. I mean come on what is it my bmi is 60 so I don't see why thier dragging their feet. My group is through Palatine.
I have done a supervised diet with my personal doctor and have the records for that but again, who knows what the other docs/insurance with require.
I am currently in a phase of "MY LAST MEAL" and trying everything that I feel I cannot have after the surgery. This is not a good Idea and working on stopping that immediately.
Everything seems like a big game. I read on the boards that some people have the surgery fast and are on thier way too loosing, can't wait till I am on that path.
Thanks for your reply, good to know someone out there cares as I do!

I wish you all the best. I will say one more thing in favor of the DS--I have zero food remorse because I can eat anything I want with no dumping, no foamies, no food getting stuck, etc.
Take care!

Please don't get too discouraged. Some people seem to get approved with no problems and others of us jump through many hurdles before getting approval. For myself it took over a year for it to all come together. It is very common for surgeons to meet with you on a pre-approval basis. I met with mine several times before the insurance papers were submitted. As frustrating as it is. I think it helps you appreciate your surgery that much more. By the time I got my surgery I was as excited as a kid at Christmas. In the long run, I think it made the experience more positive for me. Hang in there.
