Good morning Ilinois friends!

I am surprised to be the first one here, but that is OK.

Things with me are good.  We had a great weekend.  The grandson liked all the activities we had planned for his birthday, so that was good.  Yesterday, we attended a 50th anniversary, and I just LOVE that I know people that have been married that long, in this day and age.

Tonight is Rockford Group and I am planning on attending.  I have missed the last couple of months, and I miss my friends there.  I hope to see some new faces there too.

Not too much else exciting to report.  I take the kids to the eye doctor on Wednesday and I go to Madison to consult with them on Friday about me.

Hope everyone has a splendid day!

Good morning!

Glad to hear about your grandson's birthday, and that he enjoyed everything :)

This weekend was pretty good for us. Still on the liquid diet, feels like it will be forever.. it has it's highs and lows. I boiled a chicken for DH this weekend and drained/skimmed the broth for myself. It takes the edge off when I get really tired of sweets.

Our kittens are still skiddish and scared. One of them (yufie) is very curious and will come out and play, but the other (mayble) only comes out if yufie comes out first. They are at least coming out to eat and play. My 2 year old scares them to death! Eventually they will get used to him, they are only 9 weeks old.

We did some cleaning, laundry, shopping... grocery shopping was.. interesting. DH is having to change his diet and is only partially accepting it. I asked him what he wants for breakfast this week and he says.. well burger king doesnt set off my migraines. So I asked how is that for your cholesterol? .. oh.  lol

I have meetings all day today and have no idea when I will be able to make my shakes, but I will figure it out :)

I hope you all have a grea t day!

HI Karmie:

I saw your post from the other day about being sick of the sweet shakes.  There is unflavored whey protein available and I THINK GNC may have some.  The unflavored can be mixed in with broth.  Just make sure that you "temper" the protein powder first by mixing it with cold water into a glue-like consistency BEFORE adding the hot liquid.  This also works with coffee if you are a coffee drinker.

Good Morning Dawn and Illinois!

Not all that much going on today.  We have to go into the city this afternoon to pick up the milk, so it's always a rush.  Tonight I continue with my Shiatsu class which I am enjoying.  I had a bad evening with food on Saturday and I think I've identified the culprit as eggs.  It seems that my body is reacting very badly to them.  I ws worried about slipping my band since my reaction was so fierce, but I seem to be okay now.  I am continuing to create more wood stuff for upcoming shows and Christmas availability.  I've added garden diddles to my collection (those are cone shaped tools that allow you to plant bulbs at exact depths).  If anybody needs gifts, please let me know!

That's all for now!  Have a great day!

Good Morning!

Hope everyone had a great weekend.  My husband and I went to the Museum of Science and Industry for his company picnic.  I can't remember the last time I was there, years ago.  It was cool, had lots of fun.  I love acting like a kid.

I'm off the gym this morning, than protein supplement shopping.  I have my pre op surgery seminar tonight.  Its 3.5 hours long.

Wishing everyone a day filled with love and happiness.

Good Morning Dawn and Illinois Friends

Another Monday is here and another work of week.  Tomorrow is the official first day of fall.  So Time to start thinking of my favorite season.  I love fall!

Nothing special happened on the weekend.  It was nice and relaxing.

I already started this morning with a dentist appointment.  Smile.

I am on the late shift at work this week.  10 am to 6:30 pm.  Not my favorite shift but I will survive.
Not much news for now.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning Dawn and all of Illinois,

Paul, since my surgery eggs make me very sick also.  I can't explain it, but I sure miss them.  They were my favorite morning meal.  Now I eat granola and yougurt.

Nothing much going on today except work.  I only work 3 days this week and then head out to Rockford on Thursday morning to get set up for the reenactment.  This is my favorite event of the year.

Yesterday I attended a memorial service for a co-worker who died very quickly from liver cancer.  He was very into the American Indian traditions, and thats the type of service it was, very different than traditional services.  As everyone was speaking about him, there was a hawk flying overhead and what was weird is we all felt like he was there.  His sister stood up and yelled at all of us and stated that he cared about all of us then he did his family.  It made everyone very uncomfortable, and I thought that was really inappropriate.  Everytime someone said something about him, she would make a weird noise and roll her eyes.  He was truly one of the good guys and would give you his last dollar if he new you needed it.  He always said "I will buy it if you will cook it."  He will truly be missed by all of us.

Well now that I have made myself cry again, I better get back to work

Have a great day everyone.

Dear Shari:

Sorry to hear about your co-worker and his sister's behavior.  Maybe his friends were more like family to him.......I know that is true for me.  We call them my "chosen family" since what little family I DO have is not very concerned with my life.  I am glad to hear that you were a friend to someone who needed friends.

Hello everyone

I'm kind of late today.

I see my best friend has come on the Illinois board and told you her story.  She has lost 220 lbs with her band (named Richard).  My band's name is Wilard and I told her she needed to name her's.  I'm so proud of her and she is a constant source of inspiration and encouragement.

I have pretty much commited to do a March of Dimes walk.  It's 6.5 miles.  I can't do 6.5 miles now but this is something I can work myself up to do.  It's in April, so I am going to start conditioning myself slowly.  This is something I needed as a goal to make myself workout. A friend of mine asked me to do this with her.  At first I was saying no, no, no but she talked me into it and now I'm excited.  We are going to workout together too.

I hope everyone enjoys this gray Monday.  I hate Mondays, but will make the best of it...
