Good Morning.  Off to run errands before going to work.  Had my first steps class last night to get more information on what changes I should start on before surgery.  Very informational and exciting.

I tried to upload a picture but it was to big.  Does anyone know how to change the size of a picture?

Have a wonderful day!  The sun is out!!!!!

Good morning Sheri and Illinois :)

The way you guys talk about the cold I am so glad that I am held up in my house for the next 2 weeks. hehe.

Tomorrow I go for my first post op appointment and have my drain removed. I have starte leaking a bit more than usual from my drain site, so I am looking forward to it getting removed. I have to keep extra drain sponges close by for when the one I have on gets too wet. Ive also started to double them up. I called the surgeon's office about it and they said as long as the site isnt red and smells bad that I am ok. so I keep smelling the sponges (DH smelled the site last night and said it smelled ok). I have religiously been checking my temperature and I am at a steady 97.3-98.2 so I think that I am ok. I do get sharp pains at the drain site if I move too fast though. so I am taking it slow.

Crystal, you should bring a heating pad to work!

Dawn, congrats on having the date finally! :)

I hope you all have a great day!

 Good morning everyone!

Yes it is chilly!  I froze all day at work yesterday.  That is the one downside of this surgery -- being cold all the time.  I don't know if I will ever get used to that.  I am wearing winter clothes already so what will I do in the winter when it gets REALLY cold???

Dawn,  I am so happy for you that you get your surgery in under this insurance year!  I know what a relief that is.  Even though it is down to the wire, it is still on the side where the insurance company pays more.

Lucy,  I wish there was a magical answer for your knee, but I do not know of one.  I grinned and bore it for over 10 years until I said "Uncle"  Now I can't wait to do the other one.  It really is not something to put off.  I thought it would be better to delay it and I am so sorry I waited.

I enjoyed reading about everyone's jobs yesterday.  I did not realize what everyone did.  We have some very talented and important people in our group!

I am thinking of our new loosers and hoping that all is going well with them.  Remember to walk, walk, walk, and sip, sip, sip and not to overdo it.  You just had major surgery.

Everyone have a good day, stay warm and give someone a hug!

 Good Morning Sheri,

Another cold day.  This might be coldest October in years.

Lucy-Hope your knee is feeling better.  Pain is horrible.  My dad had his knees replaced in Oct 2008 and Dec 2008, he feels like a new man.

Crystal-Bring a personal heater to work.

Dawn-I'm so happy for you Oct 30, what a relief.

Carol- I'll be joining you at the gym in a few more weeks.

Crystal-Glad to hear your doing well.

For me its just another day of walking, sipping,  which is still hard to do since I use to gulp my water down, puree food isn't bad.  My sister and nephew are taking good care of me.  I'm so thankful and blessed.

Wishing everyone a day filled with love and happiness.

Hi Sheri and Illinois,

It is so nice to see the sun today!  I spent the morning driving downtown for a work meeting, but at least now I can go on leave knowing everything important is wrapped up!

Dawn, I'm so pleased you got the surgery date you needed!  Remind us when the time gets close so we can be praying for you!

Randy, it's good to see you posting again.  Are you home from the hospital?

Crystal and Deanna, hope your recovery is going smoothly.

Lucy, my heart aches for you.  In my short experience, chronic pain makes the rest of everyday life  seem so difficult.   Are you sure you can't go ahead with a replacement, medically speaking?

I'm as ready as I can be for my big day tomorrow.  Emily is all set up to go to friends' houses in the afternoons and hopefully won't be worrying about me.  Steve is planning to bring her to the hospital to see me on Thursday afternoon. Northwestern is pretty lenient about letting kids visit.

When I post again, I'll be firmly planted and taking root on the
