I see a lot of people on this forum from the Rockford-Chicago area but I don't see a lot of people from Peoria, Bloomington, Galesburg or surrounding areas from there.
If you live in that area, is there a doctor you recommend?
Is there an employer that you know in this area or surrounding areas that their insurance does cover WLS.
Due to privacy, I know many may not want to respond to this posting but if you could respond privately and give me some information to go on, I would appreciate it.
Thanks!

I know at one time you were lokoing into the DS. If that's still the case, the Rossi brothers in the Peoria area do the DS. Some of their patients post on the DS forum. You may want to ask this there.

I live about an hour north of Peoria. A lot of people in this area go to OSF. I have personally been to Dr. Stephen Marshall but not for bariatric surgery. OSF info can be found at this link. OSF Saint Francis Bariatric Center/Peoria Surgical Group
My experience with Dr. Marshall was very positive. He is an excellent surgeon that is originally from my area.

I had my laproscopic (sp?) Roux-en-Y with Dr. Rossi back in April of this year and had it at OSF St. Francis Hospital there in Peoria. I am very blessed with how awesome my surgery experience was with them. I know they also have support group meetings at the RiverPlex in Peoria. The bariatric coordinator, Melinda, is awesome too. I am about an hour drive north of there but it was well worth it. A local support group somewhat near me is held in Peru, IL on the first Tuesday of the month.
I have Health Alliance insurance and was required to do a 6 month telephone coaching program and lose 5% of my body weight before I was approved for surgery.
Best of luck to you!
