Vascular Surgeon needed

Does anyone know of a good vascular surgeon in the Joliet area or within 30 miles.  Since I had been so heavy for so long, I have pretty bad spider and vericose veins and I would like to get them resolved.

Hi Sheri,

I can't say that I know of any in the area, but since my mom and sister work in hospitals, I can ask them if they know of anyone.  I can't guarantee that they will know someone closer to us, because their jobs are closer to the city, but it doesn't hurt to ask them.  I will be calling my mom tomorrow after work and I can let you know then.

I am actually having a laser procedure performed on November 25th.  I have bad vericose veins in my left leg.  This is due to a blood clot that I had in 2002 along with the extra weight.  I am having it performed by Dr. Wallace at Suburban Surgical Care Center in Hoffman Estates.  That is quite a ways from Joliet....but just wanted to let you know.

I have no pain tolerance, let me know how bad it hurts.  Also, if he is good I would consider driving out there.

Hi Sheri,

Well, I had the procedure done the day before Thanksgiving.  To be honest, there wasn't pain per se, it was more of a pressure.  I am now wearing my compression hose and will go for a follow-up ultra sound to make sure that the veins were closed off as intended.

If you want, I can go into exactly what Dr. Wallace did during the procedure.  It was a bit more complex than I remember him telling me...but it wasn't too bad at all.  It was more of a build up than anything that made me nervous.

Please let me know if you want additional information.  Also, if you go on the Suburban Surgical Center site,,,,they go into detail of the procedure also.
