Hello everyone

Well it's Thanksgiving Eve!!!

I picked up my daughter last night and I stayed up waaayyyy to late.  we just sat and talked and talked.  It's nice that she can tell me such personal things.  She told me her and her boyfriend are in love.  Ahhhh...my daughter's first love.  It's so good to have her home again.  I will have trouble making it through the day...I can't wait to get home.

The only thing I make for Thanksgiving is pound cake.  I'm kind of known for my pound cake.  So tonight I will be doing some baking.  We will be ordering pizza and watching Count of Monty Cristo.  My daughter saw and wants me to see it.  She says I will love it.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Enjoy that turkey...lots of protein.

Well have a nice day....and may the day go by fast.

Good morning Crystal and Illinois!

I too find that when my son and his family come home I stay up way to late. I don't want to miss a minute with them.

I've got the yams baking in the oven. Pies will be done after that. Turkey isn't quite defrosted yet. Hopefully that will happen soon.
I'm looking forward to cooking dinner tomorrow. We will have 14 for dinner.

Starting Friday I will begin the Christmas decorating. I'm really not looking forward to it because of the mess it causes but it will look so pretty once it is done!

Well I hope everyone has a great day. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Keep safe!
Carol

Happy Thanksgiving to my Illinois friends!

I wish you blessings and a wonderful Thanksgiving time with family and friends.

Crystal, so glad your daughter is home.  Enjoy your time.

Carol, good luck getting your baking/cooking done.  I put my turkey out this morning and will bake a pie tonight.  I have 5 people coming!  so not a big group, but we will have  a wonderful time.

To everyone, enjoy your Thanksgiving.  I'll be munching on my 2 oz of turkey and enjoying every bite!  I'll prbly sneak a bite of pumpkin pie filling!

Good morning Illinois,

A lazy hazey morning good for enjoying a chocolate mochachina protein shake going down with some smooth jazz.

I am up too early.  I ordered my first post up iced latte at lunch yesterday and it was very good.  I did not get to sleep though until 2am this morning.  Part of that may have been though that yesterday was a very productive day and my subconcious was still processing it and some options on some fun things coming up soon.

I should be checking in tomorrow but if I do not y'all know what to do.

Randy

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

We are spending the day with friends so there won't be much cooking at our house. We are looking forward to the day, though. Friday we will start the Christmas decorations like many of you. I always think it's too much wor****il I get some things up and then I get in the mood. We don't have any holiday parties planned but we have been known to do something at the last minute and throw together a party--so who knows!

I have been busy at work--at least the few hours I'm working. I just love being retired and not having to follow a schedule, although I don't get much done except knitting. There's always tomorrow....Oh well, one of these days I'll get organized. I do have all my Christmas shopping done or ordered. I'm an online shopper for the most part.

At this holiday I am so grateful for my surgery, my surgeon and all the support all of you have given me in this journey. I wish all the best for all of you this holiday!

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

I am working this morning, then home to start cooking.

I want to get all that I can done ahead of time for my dinner on Saturday.  I will make the brownies, cranberry sauce, cheese puffs, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, onion gratin, steam the green beans and brussells sprouts over the next couple of days.  I will prepare the brine Friday morning and get the turkey into the bucket.  I am also making the "Buttermilk Barbecued Turkey Legs", so I will get them marinated also.

Hopefully, the family will be helpful with cleaning the house and setting the tables.  By Saturday, it should be easy.

I am wishing you all a fantastic day and a very Happy Thanksgiving.  We all have much to be thankful for.

Tell someone that you love them!

Hello everyone!!  It sounds like everyone has some great plans for Thanksgiving this year!

My family will be going to my mom and dad's and then head over to my aunt's where everyone usually meets.  My husband and I usually go to visit his family in Wisconsin, but being only one week post-op, I didn't want to travel the 2 1/2 hours there and then back again.  I'm looking forward to spending the day with the whole family, even though I will only be eating my pureed chicken...I'll just try and concentrate on the whole family being together and not the food.

Work today was not too bad and I made it through my whole shift with only feeling tired once.  I'm not even tired now, but I may take a nap in a little bit.

Everyone take care and have a very Happy and Safe Thanksgiving!!

Kathy

Good Evening Crystal and Illinois friends,

It sounds like you all have nice Thanksgiving plans.  Crystal, my mom and I have the same type of relationship you are describing with your daughter.  I've always felt very lucky that my mom and I are best friends now.

I will be spending Thanksgiving at work.  It's my FIRST day back at work tomorrow.  I've got single servings of protein powder packed, plenty of Crystal light, and I'll be bringing cottage cheese and yogurt with me.  The hospital gives all employees a free lunch of turkey and all the trimmings, so I will be able to enjoy a little turkey.

I was looking forward to returning, but some things have happened at work that have killed that feeling.  My boss didn't stand behind me on some decisions I made regarding the holiday schedule, EVEN THOUGH she was informed and agreed that the decisions were correct.   I'm really angry about it.  It's kind of interesting though.  I realized that pre-op I would have gone out to a bakery, bought a cake, and planted my face in it!  Now I can't use food to blunt the feelings.  It's a good lesson, one I hope to get used to so I don't fall back into old habits.

I'm grateful to have "met" all of you, thank you for your support over the last few months.  I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.

Good Evening everyone!  Greetings from rainy Florida.  It has rained all day but is susposed to clear up the rest of the week.  I got in at noon after barely making my flight.  The hotel alarm clock did not go off and neither did I receive the wake up call I requested.  Fortunately I woke up at 4:50 am.  My plane left at 5:59 am.  I dont think I have moved so fast in a long time.

It is really great to be with my entire family and get to meet my niece's fiance and my new greatnephew!

I wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
