Belated Holiday Wishes

Merry everything to all my IL friends-I have been very remiss w/corresponding but I just have no time any more for anything.  I hope you all had wonderful holidays and wish you a 2010 filled w/health and happiness.  Eddie and I are still facing tremendous health challenges for him-he has been so terribly ill w/too many problems to even try to list.  His foot is finally closing but is broken from the heel to the ankle so he will need that fixed before he can walk again.  He is now confined to a power chair and can not even walk to potty, so I start and end my day emptying urinals and stuffing the hole in his foot with medicated dressings.  Last month they found a growth on his transplanted kidney just by accident, when doing a CT scan for a gastric problem.  We had to go to Loyola to have it evaluated,because no Dr. at a regular hospital will touch a transplanted organ and my ins. wouldn't let us go to Madison where he had the transplant.  It is indeed cancer,the biopsy sent him into kidney failure twice.  The reaction to the biopsy was so severe that we have been told there are no treatment options available that won't trash the kidney function and our best option is to enjoy the time  he has left and be grateful for the 16 bonus yrs. we got.  It was not the merriest Christmas here, but it was a nice one.  My girls have rallied around me and help when thay can, but his care needs are so acute and some so personal that they are very limited in what they can do.  We have Home Health in, so I know he is checked up on at times.  The moral support is there,from my girls and that is what counts.  We take each day as it comes and are grateful for that day-we hope you keep us in your prayers.  I miss you all and will try to stay in better touch-if not just for an outlet -I feel so alone with all this at times.  Stay warm, healthy and happy-HUGE HUGS-Janet K

Dear Dear Janet. I am so very sorry that you and Eddie are having all these health problems. I can't even pretend to know what you facing. Keep your faith in God, and take one day at a time. Each day is a gift.
