Submitting paperwork to BCBS IL

Hello Everyone!

I am going through Dr. Joyce at Silver Cross Hospital and had my final weigh in today. I am short 2 pounds, but they are still submitting paperwork. Has this happened to anyone else and what was your experience? Just want to be approved so bad!! Had a bad month last month. I had a lumbar spine MRI and found out I have two herniated discs. I was limited as far as exercise, and off of work for a week. Not to mention, on two rounds of prednisone and physical therapy 3 times a week. Not a good month!. I just hope they approve me!

I am not sure how that works if you don't lose enough weight.  I know the approval came through pretty fast, in like a week and a half.  You should start calling after a week.  I hope it works out:)

what do you mean 2 pounds short?  They require you to lose a specific amount of weight?

I gained weight on my preop diet.  If we could loose a lot of weight, we would not need this surgery.  I dont think it is of that great of importance.  Hang in there!  

Well I'm glad you got through the long doctor supervised diet.  I don't see a problem with you getting appoved.  Dr Lahmann told me I would get approved and I did.  Good luck.  Let us know how you are doing.

They told me to try to lose 10% of my weight during the three month supervised diet. Well, I did not make the 10% by a lot. But don't worry, I think the purpose of the diet is just to make sure you make an attempt and that it is documented.  I also agree give BCBS a call later next week to check the status.  I did and I found out it was approved after two days.
