 Happy Hump Day

It is a little cooler today and rainier but still spring.  At least all this moisture coming down is not white!  

For me, this is Friday.  Woo Hoo!.  Tomorrow, I have my 2 year appointment and I decided to take Friday off as well.  It always seems to take the entire day for my surgeons appointment.  I guess that part of that is because she is 2 hours each way.  

Yesterday I woke up to a river of sewage running down our street.  A sewer line had broken.  We are now under a boil order.  So inconvenient!  You don't realize just how much you rely on that good old tap water until you cannot use it.  Hopefully it will not last long.  

We have the head hauncho's coming down from headquarters today.  So we have to be on our best behavior.  I know that our leadership people are a little nervous.  It always is that way when you are having company and you want to show off your best side.  Hopefully all goes well.  We are known to be the best of all the centers so we just have to make sure that we continue to impress everyone!  It can be hard to be perfect.    But someone has to be.

I am up and sort of at 'em. Hair apt. for me this afternoon and then home to move a couple pieces of furninture in the FM out of the way. That is just about all that is on my agenda.

PS Dave told me yesterday that the neighbor heard that the 5 houses with the flooding are on the top of the list this year to get a trench put in at the back easement. Hopefully this is an answer to prayer and not lip service from the village which they are great at doing.

Hello everyone

I just heard on the radio that some areas could see some snow tonight!!!  YUCK...I hope it's not my area.  The ride into work wasn't bad.  

I am still in training mode today.  My new person is doing well.  Not to be mean but I really hate the people that are just not getting it no matter what I do or say...I want to bang my head.  But I'm always nice to them.

Like Nancy, today is the last day I work this week. So, this is my Friday.

Weatherman says rain for today. Be careful and safe out there today.

Just touching on yesterdays topic of TVs, ours in our family room is a 1991 model big screen (47 in), in a wonderful wood cabinet. I know eventually we will have to replace it and I don't care for the new ones. BTW, it had been junked by the store, because it had a broken screen. My DH was the TV repairman at the time, and he fixed it. I think it cost us 200.

Its work today, and a walk afterward, if it isn't raining.

Good morning--everyone certainly is up early today! I thought I might be first but not by a long shot. This is my early breakfast day with friends. Then some of my favorites should be at the knitting shop today.

The weather does say snow tonight, but when it snows at this time of year you know it won't be there a long time. Try to have a good day anyway!

I'm heading with my Mom and a friend to Goose Lake in Morris today.  My Mom has 3 quilt tops she's finished and wants to have them quilted.  Then to lunch.   I'm getting along pretty good but not a lot of energy yet.  Moving from the pureed protein to small bits is going well.  I've been having a grilled turkey tenderloin with gravy the past two nights and that went down very well.  Food is so much more pleasing looking when it's not pureed.  I feel like a normal person eating again.

I've been doing some jewelry making and knitting to keep me busy and enjoying walking the yard seeing what is blooming and popping up from the ground.  The  neighbors probably think I'm nuts.
Oh well, it makes me happy.

Good morning Nancy and the rest of Illinois!

Nothing really big going on for me today.  Work, then home to fix the shredded beef I made yesterday into barbeques for the family.  I used the first half for tacos last night.  THEN......Todd came home and was disappointed that we were not having pot roast.  I told him that maybe tomorrow I will put some on for pot roast.

So far, it looks like the Christmas Tree Burn is on for this Saturday night.  We have relatives and friends that lost a couple of trees in Monday night's storm, so I guess those will be cut up and brought out to cure behind the garage for next year.

Nancy-----I spoke to David about doing some work for you.  Let me know what you need done and maybe we can set a date.

Hello everyone in IL... it is Wed and it is my 2 weeks post Lap Band surgery today! Everything went well! I recovered quickly, came home the next day - my incisions are a little pink and itchy now, but everyone says that means they're healing. Im still trying to watch what I do, but I feel like Im back at 90% already. I do get tired if I do too much during the day and then I find I'll lay down at 4:00 or so for a quick nap! (One of the perks of working from home)!

The kids have been a great help! They don't let me drink if Im eating and they watch me like a hawk! Drives me crazy actually! I'm glad they're back in school this week! Im adding mushy foods into my diet and trying to be smart about it. Sometimes it's hard because I can't think outside the box that Im used to. I found a yogurt that I like that has 7g protein and I make that a morning snack. I started back on my scrambled egg for breakfast and crystal light has become my new best friend!

I was a HUGE Diet Pepsi drinker and I stopped the dat before surgery. Massive headache that night, but all the pain meds must have masked any other headaches, because I havent had any pop since!!! Horray! Diet green tea has also become my friend!

Im happy because Im not snacking and I have lost 7 lbs since surgery - I don't know if that's good or bad, but I'll take it! Im down 18 lbs since I started the protein diet 2 weeks pre-op - so that's 18 lbs in 4 weeks! Im afraid to start exercising - Im walking, but other than that, Im still worried about the incisions, have to give them time to heal!

Suggestion on a yogurt, try Greek yogurt as it is higher in protein.
