Sunday Roll Call

Good morning all your great "loosers" across IL! Happy Sunday to everyone. And Happy Mom's day to all the moms on the board.  Dave and I were married 36 years ago on Mom's Day Weekend and we had rain and warmth on Saturday (our day the 11th) and Mom's Day it was freezing cold, colder (45) than today is supposed to be. So cold that my in-laws went back home to Iowa and not to a Cub's game. They were die hard Cubs fans and if they went home then you know it is cold. What is happening in your world?

After we watch the morning news programs we are headed out to Ace and then Target. I need more dirt for my two last containers and then our Target was remodeled to having food sold at it so I want to take a "tour" around it AND of course there always might be something we can buy that we just NEED! I do need hair color and a couple of cards.

Our Targets were remodeled here too, and I love it. It really helps to have one-stop shopping when you are dragging two little kids around with you.

I see my little elves were hard at work (with Daddy's help) and made me one of those plaster stepping stones for Mother's Day. It has their handprints embedded in it and they painted it. It will be hung in a place of honor somewhere in our house. It was sitting on the kitchen table when I went through it to get to my computer, and they are in the basmeent playing so Mommy can get some "extra" sleep today. I will wait for them to "unveil" it. So cute!

Doing a Mother's Day luncheon at my sister's today. My mom, my sister's MIL and the rest of the gang. We're having one of my favorites--combo sandwiches (beef and Italian sausage--lots of protein!), tons of side dishes. And pie. For some reason I am not a big pie fan, but it sounds great to me today!

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! The hard work you do matters to your kids and our society.

Okay, have been to the new Target and I am not impressed as the prices for food is higher than Jewel and for me it will only be used as a HAVE to pick up.I guess we are spoiled as we shop at a small ma 'n pa store less than 1/8 of a mile from Target and the prices are fantastic. The little store does not have everything so you know what? - we do without.

Sounds like your family time is going to be precious and delicious!

Good Morning and Happy Mother's Day Moms!

All I can say is at least the sun is shining!  That wind and clouds made it so cold feeling out yesterday.  We're heading to my brother's for a cookout with my mom around 1:00.  I haven't seen his kids since Christmas so I'm looking forward to that.  I got the nicest card from all my step kids yesterday, made me feel so good.

Christine, I got more dirt at Lowes yesterday.  Sometimes I feel like I spend more on dirt than I do on plants!  My mom gave me 2 old galvanized wash tubs and I want to put herbs in them.

I really scored yesterday at Penney's.  I was walking on the treadmill and kept having to pull up my workout pants so I decided to see if they had any on sale.  I did have 3 coupons also.  The pants and crops I liked were 60% off so I got 2 pairs for now and 2 in the next smaller size.  They were regularly $34 each and I was able to use all 3 coupons so I got all 4 pairs for $30.  I was very excited.  (Can you tell I'm going through shopping withdrawal?)

Dirt and flowers - yes I am there with you as each year I say I will not have to get this much next year - HA! Well for me I added two new containers this year so I needed more dirt.

My daughtr already called me to wish me Happy Mother's Day.  I miss the old days when she lived here...but I would never hold her back.

I don't have ,uch going on today.  I might go walking around at one of the stores.  I will get the Sunday paper and putz around the house.

Happy Mothers Day to all, Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunts and Friends.

I stayed in the house all day yesterday, except to go out and cover the flowers. Not sure if we had any frost or not, but didn't want to lose anything.

Today we are heading to Yorkville to our daughters for a cookout.

Tomorrow, is back to work, and another work week.

Lisa, like you I stayed in the house yesterday except to move 3 bags of dirt to the back, go to church and then cover the plants at night.

 Happy Mother's Day to all our mom's on the board!  I hope you each enjoy your day.  

I did go out and run a few errands yesterday.  Today I have to go grocery shopping, do laundry and pay bills so it is a full day for me.  I want to keep busy as I really am missing my mom this year and it is hard.  But that is part of life. 

Another full week at work is ahead.  I will be doing some training again.  We are having a job fair on Tuesday and the new hires will be sitting with me to get a taste of their future job.  Also we are training the new people on our dedicated team so they have also been spending time with me and others on my team.  It makes the day go faster when someone is sitting with you.  

No other big plans for the week.  I hope everyone has a great week.
