Please help me fnd a surgeon

Ok, why cant I find a surgeon that takes Medicaid ? I talked to UIC and they said they do not take referrals from my PCP. I am really getting frustrated now. I know not alot of places want to deal with Medicaid so I am starting to get nervous. All of my pre-op tests are done, my nutritional visits are done and psych consult is done. Now, I cant find a doctor. I signed up for the seminar at Northwestern, but canceled and said they will call me back with another date. Anyone had Gastric Bypass with the Medicaid card and had success?

 Did you check out the sticky post at the top of the forum?  We have asked members for a list of surgeons they know in IL that take Medicaid and Medicare.  Check it out first and then also, call the number on the back of your insurance card and get a list of participating surgeons from the state as well.

I already called the surgeons on the list. Have not had any luck. At Dr Nagles office, they said I have to wait on a date for the info seminar, so I am just waiting for a call back. They said I would have to do my 3 months of nutrition class over :-(. I am just getting so discouraged now. Its like no one wants to take the Medicaid card anymore.

Try contacting Paul Guske at Surburban Surgical Care in ARlington Heights.  He did the lap band on both me and my husband.  He is awesome!!!
