Sunday Roll Call
Most of the time it is so quiet and peaceful that I wonder why so many people sleep through it. We made gumbo tonight which is best when it has set for at least a day and then can be doctored up with each persons own choice of extra spices. Some swear by file' but it does little for me. I like some extra cayenne, tobasco or Louisanne. Most folks eat gumbo with rice but to me that was always a waste of bowl space so I do not miss it.
I am not as good at boards as I am at email so I apoligize for not dropping in as often as I should. Selfish of me no doubt as I was very good at getting over here preop.
Sherry started the week with a cold and I ended the week with one. If I get up in time and we both feel well we will take half of our gumbo over to a Table. We would have called a Table a potluck down south.
HOPE Y'ALL HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY!!!!
I picked up the peat moss yesterday after the Creek so I can incorporate it into the containers to add volume and help with the moisture retention and I will add that in today. I also got some radish seeds to plant this morning. We head back to the Creek this morning after the last service because Dave is giving a tour to some out of towners. He had a tour last night and the people never showed. We were pretty irked because it now means two trips over there when it could have been only one and saving on the gas. After that we have a pops concert at Maine West HS that is given by a local adult orchestra.
I had 2 - 4 legged visitors - deer to my backyard yesterday morning at about this same time. We have them all the time due to the forest preserves that are so close. We also get fox, hawks and coyotes in addition to the other nasty creatures of 'coons & opossums. I have tried to upload the photos to post them but OH is having issues with letting you do that. There is another person that posted a thread on the main board about the same issue.

ps Randy, look back through the posts (Tues or Wed) and there is one by me regarding the upcoming Meet and Greet that we will have at our house on June 12th. Would love to have you and Sherry there.

Randy, your gumbo sounds so good. Hope the cold is better.
Got a busy morning doing odds and ends then our granddaughter is graduating from high school this afternoon.
I won't have a computer after today for awhile so I'll post when I'm back online.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday!
Lynn
We had a great day yesterday, besides being with my ds and bil, we had a great time at the charity dinner/auction. I think we spent $90. at the silent and live auctions.
The only bad thing was we didn't get homeuntil almost 11.
Today, i want to get the rest of the garden stuff, I probaly won't get it in today , since we are going to our DGD birthday cook out.
Randy, I like my gumbo without rice too. BTW, we call them potlucks too.
Lynn, hope you get back on your computer soon. You will be missed.
Have a great day, stay safe and dry. Don't forget, Survivor finale is tonight.
Huggers,
LISA
Hello everyone
I am still feeling tired after yesterday. I took lots of pictures and I was in some of them. In the past I would refuse to have pictures taken of myself. But I decided I am not going to worry about that. It was a really nice ceremony. It was nice seeing Amanda and she looked so pretty. She's letting her hair grow out (I love long hair on my daughter). I got to see her ring. It looked smaller in person....I wonder why??? The dinner was great. Everyone agreed my idea of eating in was much better than going out to the crazy busy restaurants. We really enjoyed ourselves. I couldn't eat much of anything. I always have trouble eating when I am over excited...my band is much tighter when I am stressed or anxious, excited. I also got to meet Amanda's fiance's father, he was very sweet.
I need some recovery time. I still feel pooped out. I'm glad I took Monday off. More time to relax.
Have a great day everyone
What nice pictures, you and your daughter are beautiful! She really resembles you!
Our granddaughter is going to work at St Joe's Hospital as a CNA right away and see if she likes that before starting nursing school. She wants to see if that's what she likes. She got her CNA while she was still in high school.

I am here, barely. I slept until noon and feel like I could go back to sleep again. I came down with a horrible cold on Friday. This one has me off balance literally. Strange. Yesterday was a VERY full day. I taught a check class in the morning, then got my hair done, then went to the grocery store and came home and collapsed. I knew I wanted to stay home today and sleep in and sleep in I did. I am losing my voice as well so it should be an interesting week. The good thing is I do not have to work on Tuesday or Thursday. We are slow right now so I put in for time off and got it.
Crystal, I am glad the graduation day went so well. The pictures of you and Amanda are great! You definitely look like mother and daughter!
Randy, we call them potlucks as well. I have never heard the term table. Must be unique for your area.

Lisa, it sounds like you had fun at your auction and another fun day ahead of you. Enjoy!
Lynn, we will miss your smiling face while you are gone.
Christine, you are so busy planting. More for those deer to eat? How to you keep all the critters out of your plants? The rabbits and I are at war.

Not much going on for me today. I have a few things to do to follow up on my class but other than that, rest and relaxation are my schedule.
