Hello Illinois! Good morning and good day to those that come into roll call later in the day.

I am off to work here in a short while. Just finished my breakfast and am ready start the rest of my day. Dave has a couple "honey do's" for me today and then I am home to pull ground cover out on the south side of the house because it is taking over some of the Spirea bushes on over there.

Have a great day all.

Good Morning,

They are calling for a 30% chance of rain today. I think I will water the new lawn anyway, since we haven't had any since it was put in on Saturday.

No big plans for today. I will get into something, and a couple of errands to run. I haven't taken any walks lately, with the humidity and the outside temp. Hopefully this heat will break, and leave us with a great summer.

Keep safe, dry and cool today.

Huggers,
LISA

Good morning Illinois!

It is beautiful outside right now! I'm hoping we get the rain either today or tomorrow. I'm hoping for sunny skies for Saturday as I'm hosting our family reunion and a friend of mines daughter is getting married and her reception is outdoors. Lot's to do to get ready for the reunion. I'm looking forward to seeing some of my cousins that I have not seen in a few years. Just talking with them on the phone these last few weeks has been wonderful!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Hello Illinois,

I had a busy Friday repairing two lift chairs.  Parts should get here for two more this afternoon.

Relaxed Saturday and Sunday except for going to church and watching the Hoffman Estates fireworks.  Sunday I grilled some corn on the cob in the shucks and was going to smoke some veggies and sausage.  I had an extreme learning experiance.  I had the charcoal right and some wood chunks on top but wanted more heat so I sprayed some charcoal lighter fluid in the smokers fire pit and lit it.  KA-FOOM, the lid blew upward and fell down while flames shot out burning my thumb and pinkie as well as singing the hair off my inner thighs and calves.  Into the bath tub to put cold water on the legs and hand, then soaking the hand in cold water a lot and later smearing with Aspercream which I think you are not supposed to do but by then I was fairly sure it was not going to blister and it did not. Had to throw out the food as it was then infused with the taste of charcoal lighter fluid.

 Hello Everyone

Boy is it hot and humid outside!  I came home this afternoon and immediately made a homemade slushie to cool off.  I am in love with those things.  It is supposed to be a chance of rain every day the last I heard but clear up for the weekend with nice temperatures in the low 80's so Carol, you should have a perfect weekend to entertain.

Christine, dont overdo it outside today while pulling plants.

Randy, be careful when grilling.  I just read an article on how dangerous it can be!  I am glad you were not hurt worse.  I managed to singe my eyebrows once.  That was a permanent learning lesson for me!  Did not have to repeat!

No special plans for the week.  I did stop by fashion bug on the way home.  Got one top.  They are turning the store into a Lane Bryant outlet.  Not sure how I feel about that but am glad that we still will have a Fashion Bug in Ottawa.

Hope everyone has a great evening!

All I did was stand and fill my watering can and then empty it into the containers.

Good evening everyone!

Well those thunderstorms were pretty lackluster around here.  A little bit of rain but it did nothing to get rid of this humidity!! Ugh!!  I broke down and took my 2 little guys to the pool today.  The surgeon wants me to wait until 4 weeks post op and I'm only 2 weeks, but I could not stand sitting in the A/C or sitting and watching my guys play in the cool crystal bllue water.  I went in a few times but just waded around.  Then I worked on my tan which made me feel much better.

Tomorrow I get a break for a bit as my Mom is coming out to visit with the boys.  Then it's off to the vet with 2 dogs to get their annual shots.  Fun times!

I went to the library today and checked out a bunch of cookbooks to find some new recipes that are weight loss friendly.  Looking forward to trying some out!!

I have to say I'm finally getting into the swing of those lazy days of summer this week!
